This petition states that the Government should introduce a national strategy to reduce cat overpopulation by expanding access to affordable neutering, supporting rescue organisations, improving public education on responsible pet ownership, and reviewing measures to reduce irresponsible breeding and abandonment, helping to improve cat welfare nationwide!

We need to make more affordable neutering options available, and rescues need more support than ever before!

We cannot continue at this rate of overpopulation, with thousands of cats being taken in by rescues every year. ❤️‍🩹

We cat owners already know this 🙄

Cats have retractable claws that stay sharp without maintenance, antibacterial saliva that keeps them clean, night vision that operates in near-total darkness, and a righting reflex that activates within milliseconds of a fall. Their purr frequency has been shown to stimulate bone repair and reduce cortisol levels in nearby humans.

Biologists studying feline anatomy have called them one of the most complete biological designs in existence.

A SNEAKY PEEK THIS MORNING

Each year in rescue gets harder and busier. This year is the worst ever for our team. We have taken on new foster placements to try and deal with the huge influx of heavily pregnant mamas that just keep coming.

We have more kittens in our care than ever.

As beautiful and cute as they are when they are ready to leave that is not how they usually arrive in rescue.. Poorly mums who have been struggling on the streets who are underweight and don't have the reserve to birth or look after kittens. Kittens born outside in horrible conditions. Mums and kittens born in homes with families that have no idea what it entails to raise or look after a small family of kittens. Breeders off loading mamas who have served their purpose. The list goes on.

The costs to the rescue are rising rapidly,the mental drain on our team is taking its toll. The sights we see and the traumatic births are heart breaking. We are only human. There is only so much we can take before it finally breaks us.

We know all our followers are cat lovers and responsible owners but someone people are not. We truly need to make the best efforts to draw awareness to the importance of neutering.

You can help us if you. ADOPT DON'T SHOP, this will make it more difficult for back street breeders. DONATE, this will enable us to help more cats in need. TELL people to NEUTER their pets!!
