From Loaner to Owner!
This lovely partnership continues,
just delivered Candy to her new home, and she looked very settled straight away!
We’d like to wish Willow lots of luck from all of us at St Brides.
It’s been great watching Candy & Willow forming that special bond. A super mare, who Willow has already done lots with- enjoyed fun rides, beach trips and hunting all last season.
It’s time to enjoy her every day, now that she’s all yours, Willow. ###
Ricky - you’ll be a fab horse dad! Time for you to get back on Candy now too!

We’re looking for a new miniature Shetland!

Wee Jock has officially retired from Shetland Shuffles!!! An amazing little shuffler who was with us for many years! He’s now living his best life as a companion pony, with two other Shetlands.
Many thanks Georgia Jervis we really did love having him with us and he was such a character 😂. He did many school fundraisers and parties! Church fetes, were his downfall - he wasn’t very Christian like and forgot his manners sometimes!
He’d simply had enough of little kiddies & was often a bit grumpy after 59 minutes.
He couldn’t hold on for that last minute! 😂

So… We are now looking for a miniature Shetland to come and live with our little herd!
We are in no rush- we will wait for the perfect one.
Ours live in a very sweet little Shetland village (yard) with haylage and a shelter.
On ‘special’ days, they go into their mini stables for pampering, shuffles and parties.
They have grass walks and grass turnout if no lami issues.

We are looking for
🦄 A miniature gelding. (The stables are mini)
🦄 Mustn’t be grumpy around small children.
🦄 Lead nicely not necessarily broken in.
🦄Little legs- but not on his last legs!
🦄 A different colour to what we already have! (Not skewbald, chestnut, piebald or palamino)
That leaves black/ grey/ bay / Dun
🦄 Must be happy to be led around and around. Ideally a slow pull along rather than a speedy headstrong one or a very stubborn drag- along!
🦄 Must be good to tie up & be pampered for a full 60 minutes- not 59!

It’s a big ask for the perfect little fella!
Please share / ask around.
Many thanks, Lucy x

Something for the diary!
Half Term week.
Please comment with a 🎃 if you’re hoping to come along- just so we have an idea of numbers for catering!

What to expect:
🐴A picnic meet with your Ponies 🧺
🐾 Follow behind the huntsman’s hounds
🎃 Pop over the poles on the pumpkin trail
🎁Prize if you pick the best hound of the day!
🐕Various Field Masters on the day who will support the riders following behind the hounds;

🐎‘Moderate flight’
For those safely cantering and happy to do some small jumps, suitable for confident teenagers & crazy kids on cool ponies!

🐴‘Hilltoppers’
For those not wanting the very wild pace, happy trotting and gentle cantering, maybe some little logs!

🦄‘The little bouncers!’
A suitably slow pace for those on small ponies & shetlands. Ideal for young children on lead rein, first timers etc who are happy to bounce around and have a giggle! Follow the pumpkin trail with
parents and helpers all on foot, happy to catch up with the hounds once and then head back so they’re first in line for the hotdogs!

7 of our riders all out early today, to meet the Pembrokeshire Hounds at Tavernputt.

Perfect for the younger ponies, to hack to the meet, follow the hounds and then ride home via the sea. A paddle to finish up nice & clean and all cooled off.

Norman Price went off yard for his first time, well ridden Leona.
First time out for Izzy, Bertie Buckle looked after her well.
New combinations Willow on Esmie,
Nell on Toby and Lyra on Bentley.
Kirsty was glad to be back out with the field too, on Lucky. Annie and Lillia first time out together.

A very emotional gathering;
A minute silence was held for Luc Evans, who has so sadly lost his battle with cancer.

We also remembered Colonel John Webber, Master of Pembs Foxhounds for many seasons.
Colonel Webber was the reason I, at 8 years of age, HAD to jump my first five bar gate.

12 years ago! This memory just popped up.
Made the decision to expand the livery yard a little bit further.
Added some new ponies and started the loan scheme!

Thanks to Ian & Steve John, who transformed the old greenhouse, potato chitting shed into a second stable block.

Funny what spurs you on…
‘No one will want to drive down that long lane’ my Dad!

Give it a go, at least we’ll have a tidy shed when you change your mind’ Geoff!

‘I just don’t think you’ll get enough people wanting to travel all the way out here, to St Brides’ - My mum!

‘I’ll supply the ponies, but I’m not sure it’ll work’ said Eurig

Do it! - Gemma.

Many thanks to CSJS for a lovely supportive show.

Plenty of firsts:
🥇First for Lyra & Tomi 50cms,
First outing in the lorry for Bentley and Tiah’s first time for a show off yard.

Great to have support from Tami, Glen, Shania & Nancy.

🍁Autumn Series 3 🍁 - Show Jumping

A really fun afternoon of showjumping at the yard today to complete our ‘Summer show’
Possibly the most efficient we’ve ever been, swift changeovers, slick jump offs & a course that kept me thinking all afternoon!

Many thanks to you all:
Rhiannon Coleman course builder.
Anna, timekeeper/ judge,
Rhi Gate Girl.

All the supporters & riders who made it a great show! A lovely, friendly atmosphere as always.

Tricky on the microphone not to give little tips, like we do for our training shows! We used the word ‘elimination’ a few times, a few speed wobbles and sat nav errors - The competition was class, with twisty turns and fast times. You all certainly rose to the occasion… lots learned, all the highs and lows of ponies! Patience, resilience and lots of hard work, but good fun. Tricky ponies making diamonds of you all! Massive well done, great riding!

We finished off with an ‘on foot, free-for-all’ which I believe I won! (If we didn’t have to do the whole course!) Sadly absolutely no video evidence allowed! Strict rules on this matter.

A presentation evening to follow with cups and trophies to be awarded!!

🍁Autumn Series 2 🍁- Flat showing

2nd part of our in-house, ‘ Summer Show’ (turned Autumn Series) was a great success with rosettes and cups, lots of sunshine and far too many Prosecco bubbles!

Well done & Thankyou to our riders & supporters who came along.
It was great to award our cups after each class- we don’t usually have much time on our ‘normal’ Summer Show day, as results are always staggered.
It’s been lovely to enjoy the prize winners and watch the leader board changing!
Thankyou to our judge, Suzanne - lovely to have you back at the yard.
