โค๏ธ FIZZ & KEESA โ TWO LITTLE MIRACLES WHO DEFIED THE ODDS โค๏ธ
Some rescue stories really do remind us why we do what we do, and the story of Fizz and Keesa is certainly one of them. ๐พ
Back in July, two beautiful little kittens arrived in our care, both desperately poorly and suffering from horrendous cat flu. They were fragile, vulnerable and facing a very uncertain future. These were two little lives that could so easily have been lost before theyโd even had the chance to begin.
With veterinary treatment, nursing care and a great deal of love, Keesa thankfully responded well and began to recover. But for little Fizz, the damage caused by his illness was devastating. Both of his eyes were beyond saving, and we were faced with the difficult decision to remove them both to give him a chance of survival. Having cared for blind cats before, we knew just how remarkably well they can adapt, but there are never any guarantees, particularly with such a poorly little kitten. Fizz deserved that chance, and goodness me, are we glad we gave it to him!
Following his surgery, Fizz remained in one of our wonderful foster homes alongside Keesa, where he was lovingly nursed through his recovery. What happened next has been nothing short of remarkable. The tiny kitten who once faced such an uncertain future has absolutely flourished. Honestly, if you spent time watching Fizz, you could almost forget he is completely blind. He navigates his surroundings with incredible confidence, plays, explores and embraces life with such enthusiasm. He doesnโt know heโs different, and he certainly doesnโt let his disability define him. Fizz doesnโt see the world, but my goodness, he knows how to live in it! โค๏ธ
And then thereโs beautiful Keesa, his companion, his comfort and his little guide through life. These two have been through so much together, and their bond is incredibly special. Fizz takes reassurance and support from Keesa, and separating them simply isnโt an option. Having now recovered and grown into two wonderful young cats, they have recently moved from their foster home into our cattery, where the next chapter of their rescue journey begins.
๐ก WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR A VERY SPECIAL FOREVER HOME. Fizz and Keesa must be adopted together, and because of Fizzโs blindness, they will need to live as indoor house cats in a safe, secure and loving environment. They need someone who understands that Fizz may need a little extra consideration, patience and consistency in his surroundings, but who also recognises that he is an incredibly capable, happy little cat with so much to give. Both kittens are now neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to begin their new lives together.
When we think back to those two desperately poorly kittens who arrived in July and look at them today, it really is quite emotional. These are two little lives that could so easily have been lost. Instead, they are here, thriving, loving life and waiting for someone to give them the future they fought so hard to have. This is what rescue is about. Not giving up when things are difficult and seeing the life worth saving, even when the odds are stacked against it.

Fizz and Keesa are not yet listed on our website, but we are now welcoming expressions of interest from people who feel they could offer this very special pair the home they deserve.
