🐶🏠 PUPPY TOILET TRAINING TIPS! 🐾
Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but toilet training can definitely test your patience! 😅❤️ Remember, accidents are completely normal, your puppy is learning.
Here are some tips to help your little one become toilet trained:
🐾 Take them out regularly – Especially first thing in the morning, after eating, after drinking, after naps and after playing.
🐾 Watch for the signs – Sniffing the floor, circling, restlessness or suddenly wandering off can mean they need to go!
🐾 Use the same toilet spot – Taking your puppy to the same area can help them understand where you want them to go.
🐾 Praise, praise, praise! 🎉 – As soon as they toilet outside, give them lots of praise and a small treat. Make it a positive experience.
🐾 Keep a routine – Puppies learn much quicker when meals, bedtime and toilet trips follow a regular routine.
🐾 Accidents will happen! – Never punish or shout at your puppy for an accident. Clean it up thoroughly with an enzymatic cleaner and carry on with the training.
🐾 Be patient ❤️ – Every puppy is different, and some will take longer than others. Consistency is key!
🚨 Remember: If a puppy that was previously toilet trained suddenly starts having lots of accidents, or is struggling to urinate/defecate, speak to your vet as there could be an underlying medical problem.
🐶❤️ Little paws, big learning curves! Stick with it and celebrate the successes!
