Yesterday I did a rare thing and went somewhere without the dogs. Those that know me know I choose dog friendly activities and take my dogs everywhere.
Yesterday I was looking after two of my sons dogs, Springsteen the dachshund and Aggie the Bernese (pictured).
We went off to enjoy Framlingham summer festival. 🥳
Half way through the day we had a call from the dog sitter to say while she’d popped out Aggie had jumped the back fence and run off.
That has got to be one of the worst feelings. All the potential scenarios that went through our minds, we were so scared about the potential outcome. We left the festival to search for her.
By the time we found out she had gone there had been two sightings on FB and one of them dropped a pin as to where they saw her. I asked them to call me and she directed me to exactly where she had seen her, probably around 2miles from my house.
We spread out and called her and she came running ♥️.
We’ve never been so relieved. This is an 8 year old Bernese, an old lady, who covered all this ground, heading in the direction of where my son is staying. How she knew the direction I’ll never know. She’s only been in the area for a day and not ever walked the route from my house to their air b’n’b!!!
We are so thankful to everyone, the dog sitter for letting us know straight away and for everyone on FB who helped. Particularly the lady who directed us straight to her. I will be contacting her today to say thank you properly ♥️
It reminded me how precious our dogs are and makes me cherish them even more 🥰
Aggie is fine today, just a bit stiff after her adventure 🏃♂️ 🐕
