🐾 An important update from Ruff Retreat HQ…

Our humans got married! 🤍

After months of hearing about the wedding, watching boxes appear everywhere and generally wondering when all the attention would return to us, they finally made it official. 😂

Naturally, no major Ruff Retreat event could possibly go ahead without the full HQ team in attendance.

We dressed for the occasion, supervised proceedings and made absolutely certain the photographer knew who the real VIPs were. 📸🐾

Mum & Dad scrubbed up pretty well too, so we’ve allowed them one photo to themselves. 😂🤍

A very special day for our little family, and one we thought we’d share with the lovely people who follow and support Ruff Retreat.

🐾 Rescue starts before rehoming.

When we introduced Country Barn to Ruff Retreat, we wanted to do more than simply announce a new collection.

We wanted to explain why we chose it.

This second edition of Inside the Bowl explores the collection itself—from everyday favourites and more adventurous protein choices to dedicated puppy, senior and cat recipes, alongside functional treats designed to complement everyday wellbeing.

Every product in this collection has been selected because it reflects the same values that guide everything we do at Ruff Retreat: thoughtful design, quality ingredients and products we’d be happy to choose for our own pets.

Inside the Bowl | Volume One 🐾🤍

Choosing food for our pets can sometimes feel overwhelming.

There are countless brands, recipes and nutritional claims, making it difficult to know where to start.

When we introduced nutrition to Ruff Retreat, we didn’t want to simply add another range to our shelves.

We wanted to understand what makes a thoughtfully developed recipe before recommending it to our community.

That’s exactly why we created Inside the Bowl.

In this first edition, we explore some of the principles behind thoughtfully developed nutrition—from quality protein sources and balanced recipes to gentle cooking, life-stage nutrition and functional treats.

Our aim isn’t to tell you what to buy.

It’s to help you feel more informed and confident when choosing what’s right for your own pet.

Why did Ruff Retreat choose Country Barn?

When we decided to introduce nutrition to Ruff Retreat, we made ourselves one promise.

We wouldn’t simply add another pet food brand.

Instead, we’d take the same approach we’ve always taken with every product we stock: research first, curate carefully, and only introduce products we’d genuinely feel confident recommending.

That meant looking beyond attractive packaging and bold marketing claims.

We wanted to understand how the recipes were developed, the ingredients that went into them, and what made the brand genuinely different.

The more we learnt about Country Barn, the more it felt like a natural extension of everything Ruff Retreat already stands for.

From their approach to gently cooked recipes and thoughtfully selected ingredients, to complete nutrition for every life stage and functional treats designed to support everyday wellbeing, we found a philosophy that aligned with our own.

This isn’t just the launch of a new range.
