Yesterday I got to spend the full day working with dogs! A follow on session with Stan the sh*tzu, Billie the cockerpoo and Rex & Bella the toy poodles! Hanging out with Charley and our Romanian pal Toby is staying for a couple of weeks! I’ve worked relentlessly to get to this point, head down, studying, working, learning and loving every minute of it. I haven’t rushed and I’ll always be constantly learning, all of these dogs teach me something new! They’re all individual like us, they’re all one of a kind sentient beings and just need the right help and guidance to navigate this weird modern world we shoehorn them into.

A lovely first session today working with the nervous springer Sadie! such a lovely little soul ❤️her flight instinct kicks in when she’s scared of things outdoors and she bolts! So this has become quite a serious issue for her safety.

it became apparent that she’s nervous around anything new it’s just not so obvious to the owner until she runs away, she’s particularly nervous around bikes so we did a bit of work with that, you can see how quickly she gained confidence around this bike! When I spin the wheels it creates another dynamic she’s unsure of, she backs off but again quickly gained confidence around it with encouragement.

Counter conditioning and desensitisation through controlled exposure, lots of confidence building and handler engagement to build trust

A day in the life of running 2 businesses and having many animal dependants!

First off is the hens, 5am they’re up at the moment demanding breakfast! So a sit with them while I have my morning coffee fuel is always a pleasure in the sunshine even if my eyes want to go back to sleep!

Days like this are everything - watching my best pal living her best life and appreciating that she still bounces around...
