Update: Stella is home π‘ π₯° and the vets are hopeful she will recover πͺπ Sadly her agility days are over π’ but all we want is to get her better. The vets bills so far have exceeded her insurance by nearly Β£1500 already so Amy and family could really do with as much help as possible for all the ongoing costs such as equipment (slings, ramps etc) and rehab (physiotherapy, hydrotherapy). If anyone can help in any way please do πππ and THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far!
Hi all,
Yesterday Amy (a good friend and student) messaged me saying "I don't think Stella is quite right", within 24 hours she became unable to use her back legs at all and Amy rushed her to Wear Referrals in Stockton on Tees.
This morning they diagnosed a Grade 4 disc herniation and rushed her to surgery.
We have everything crossed that the surgery was a success and Stella will recover but she will have a long road of rehab in front of her.
Stella is insured but the specialist surgery has already maxed that out and she will need much more ongoing care to get her better.
As a young family they really don't need this extra financial stress so I'm hoping that our amazing community can come together to make things a little easier for them.
Stella won't ever be able to return to agility but we hope she can make a recovery to live a happy and fulfilled life as a member of the family β€οΈ
