We’ve had some lovely feedback from our recent Real-Life Dog Training Classes in Harrogate 🐾

A few recent comments from owners:

⭐ “Our puppy is becoming a happy, confident dog.”

These classes are designed to help dogs and owners build focus, confidence, calmness and engagement for everyday life — using reward-based training in a supportive small-group environment.

🐾 Dogs needing better focus and engagement out on walks

Training includes:
✔ Recall foundations
✔ Loose lead walking
✔ Focus around distractions
✔ Confidence building
✔ Settle behaviour

I’ve currently got 6 spaces available in the next intake of classes in Harrogate Starting Wednesday 3rd June.

If you’d like more information, send me a message and I’d be happy to chat 😊

Classes kicked off a few weeks ago and these guys are doing BRILLIANTLY!! So many skills learnt! Decided to show off last weeks skills of middle by doing a middle Mexican wave! Dogs ages vary from 16 weeks to 4 years so it’s mega to watch them learn. So proud 🥰🥰

Hi everyone, just a bit of an update from me 😊

As a lot of you know, I’ve been working towards my IMDT dog training qualification over the past year, and I’m really happy to say that I’ve now passed 🐾

Don’t worry — I’m absolutely still continuing with dog walking (that’s not going anywhere!), but I’m now starting to branch out into running some group training classes alongside it.

Some of you will know I wrote a book on recall, so I’ll be offering two types of classes going forward:
• Recall workshops
• Real-life skills classes (focus, calmness, everyday behaviour)

I’ll be sharing more about these over the next few weeks as I get things up and running.

I’ll also be gradually updating this page to reflect the training side of things under my new name, Breed Confidence — but it’s still me behind it all, just expanding things a bit 😊

I’d really appreciate you sticking around, engaging with posts, and supporting the page as I grow this side of the business.

Excited to get started with this next step! 🐾

🐶In the past few weeks we have seen an increase in the number of dogs coming to us with vomiting and diarrhoea🐶
🌡Vets throughout the UK have also been reporting an increase in similar cases.
🌡Research is now underway into potential causes of this outbreak.
🌡Affected dogs have been suffering from some or all of the following signs: vomiting, diarrhoea, reluctance to eat and lethargy.
🌡The majority of dogs have recovered well with symptomatic treatment, more severe cases have required intravenous fluids and further treatment.
🌡It is thought that this may be a contagious disease, so affected dogs should be kept away from healthy dogs if possible.
🌡If you are worried your dog may be suffering with this, please contact your vet for advice.
🌡We will keep you updated with any further news as we hear it.

Please let me know ASAP if your pup is showing signs of sickness. Really important we try keep any poorly pups out of main group walks. I can arrange pop in visits if required. X

Vets have seen an increased number of gastroenteritis cases in dogs within the last two weeks

Really interesting to see how pups use smells to understand their world. When walking, I’m always mindful of the power and importance of sniffs 👍🏻🙌👍🏻🐶🤥👃🐾

Grass seed awareness......
one of my lovely walking dogs was lame with a swelling on the top of his foot, I suspected grass seed stuck in between his toes. Vet confirmed it was a seed and he’s having an operation to remove it 😢. It had gone in between toes and had begun to travel up his foot over a period of time.
Vets said they saw 4 cocker spaniels yesterday with problems caused by grass seeds 😱 they sound harmless but unfortunately they can cause damage 👎👎
I know our lives are busy but it’s worth checking for seeds especially between toes, they are sneaky and pretty unpleasant.
Here’s Pilot being a perfect foot model to show where the cheeky buggers hide 🙈🙈🙈

Super hot today but our priority is keeping pups cool, so I grabbed my wet trainers and we set off up the river 👍🏻😍👍🏻
Cool mats and lots of ventilation in the van 👍🏻👍🏻
Happy pups , happy me !

We often see dogs with mobility issues. Whether orthopaedic or neurological, it can sometimes be useful to offer them a little more support and stability. Bags for life can be great for this. They come in various sizes. Cut out the sides and a support sling is formed.
