Oh my goodness! Can Hump Day get any better than this?! 🥰🐾

Everyone knows I have a huge soft spot for Labradors, so today was an absolute treat!

I had the gorgeous Dotty in for the full pamper treatment — which she absolutely deserved after being such a wonderful mum to her beautiful litter of puppies! 💕🐶

But the excitement didn’t stop there… Dotty brought along her gorgeous daughter for her very first puppy introduction! 🥹❤️

So, everyone, meet Betty! 🐾💗 What a little beauty she is!

Two generations of gorgeous Labradors in one room… my heart is officially melted! 😍🐕🐕‍🦺

🐾💙 Hi everyone! 💙🐾

Hope you’ve all had a fab weekend! 😊

Yesterday was such a lovely day, and I even managed to squeeze in a little retail therapy… because, well, why not?! 😂🛍️

And just LOOK at this amazing find from Next! 😍

My new favourite item in the wardrobe — this gorgeous blue cardigan… and yes, it has POoches all over it! 🐶🐾😂

Anyone would think I was dog obsessed… 🤔🤣

I mean, I spend my days surrounded by dogs, so naturally I need to wear them too! 🐶💙

I think it’s safe to say this cardigan was absolutely made for me! 😂

What do you think? Would you wear it? 🐾💙

🐶💙

🐩 The story behind the name Kaybets ❤️

I’m often asked why my grooming parlour is called Kaybets, so I thought I’d share the story behind the name.

A few years ago, while going through some family things, I came across an old newspaper article from the 1960s about a poodle parlour in Cardiff — where I was born.

And there she was… my Nana Kathleen, doing what she loved. ❤️

My Nana had the poodle parlour with her friend Betty, and together they came up with the name Kaybets — Kay from Kathleen and Bets from Betty.

This photograph is my Nana doing her thing, grooming a poodle all those years ago. 🐩✂️

As a child, I remember spending my summer holidays helping Nana in the parlour. She was still grooming dogs well into her 80s, so I suppose you could say the love of grooming was always there somewhere!

Sadly, Nana passed away when I was 18. I’m now 51, and finding this little piece of her history all these years later was incredibly special. ❤️

Eight years ago, when I decided to retrain as a dog groomer, I couldn’t think of a more fitting name for my own business.

Kaybets.

And now, all these years later, Kaybets is located in the garden of my family home here in Killinghall. ❤️

From a little poodle parlour in Cardiff in the 1960s, to my own grooming parlour here in Killinghall…

My Nana’s story lives on. 🐾❤️

So now you know the story behind Kaybets. xx

White rabbits!! 🐇🤍 Is this still a thing?? 🙈

Apparently, it’s an old British superstition that if “white rabbits” are the first words you speak on the first day of the month, you’ll have good luck for the month ahead! 🍀

Well, I certainly count myself lucky that I’ve spent the first of the month grooming this gorgeous boy — Buddy the Cavapoo! 🐾✂️

How adorable is he after his full groom?! 😍🥰

He really is such a gorgeous boy and an absolute pleasure to groom! ❤️

What a lovely way to start October! 🍂🤎

🐾✨ September Floof Round-Up! ✨🐾

Hi everyone! 💕 Well, it’s the last day of September, and I thought I’d share just a little selection of some of the beautiful floofs I’ve had the pleasure of grooming this month! 🐶✂️🥰

It’s been another busy month at Kaybets, and I’ve loved seeing all your gorgeous pooches and making them feel fresh, fluffy and fabulous! 🥰🐾

Sorry if I haven’t included your pooch in this post — I really do have so many lovely photos and just can’t fit them all in! 🙈 I’ll try my best to post more throughout October so I can share even more of my gorgeous four-legged customers. ❤️

Thank you, as always, for keeping me so busy and for trusting me with your precious pups. 🥰🐶

Bring on October! 🍂🎃🐾

🐾✨ Meet gorgeous little Daisy! ✨🐾

Hi everyone, it’s Erica from Kaybets Grooming Parlour! 💕 I haven’t posted for ages as it’s been absolutely crazy busy, but I wanted to pop on and share this gorgeous little Cavapoo puppy with you all.

Daisy came to me for her very first puppy groom 🥰 And what better way to start than with a lovely marshmallow facial! ☁️🫧🐶

After her marshmallow facial, shampoo and conditioner Daisy enjoyed a gentle blow-dry, and we even managed to trim her little fringe ✂️🥰. How adorable does she look now?! 😍 She was such a little superstar and did so well for her first visit.

Introducing puppies slowly and positively to the grooming process is so important. Their first experiences can really help them learn that grooming is nothing to be worried about, allowing them to gradually become comfortable with all the sights, sounds and sensations involved. ❤️

And of course, once the grooming was all finished, there was plenty of time for some post-groom playtime! 🐶💕 It’s all about making their first experiences happy, positive and as relaxed as possible.

If you’ve recently welcomed a new puppy and aren’t sure where to start with their grooming journey, please do drop me a message! 💌

You’re very welcome to bring your puppy along for a FREE consultation, where we can have a chat about their grooming needs, and they can have a little look around, meet me and familiarise themselves with the surroundings — all at their own pace. 🐾💕

I can’t wait to meet all your new little fur babies! 🥰🐶 xx

🐾 Hi everyone! 🐾

Well, the kids have hopefully all gone back to school now! 😂 Which means it’s time to start thinking about all those other jobs that have been waiting patiently… hair appointments, dentist appointments, all those little jobs you’ve been putting off — and of course, not forgetting your pooch’s grooming appointment! 🐶✂️🛁

I’m fully booked for the rest of September (thank you so much! ❤️), but I do have some availability for October.

So, if your pooch is looking a little scruffy and is ready for some well-deserved pampering, drop me a message and let’s get their spa treatment booked in! 🐾💗
