Just posting an update regarding the hot weather. We have commercial evaporative coolers in all the kennel blocks and cattery along with large fans to improve ventilation. We are also flooding the corridors with water to aid cooling and also all the kennels are tiled which provides a cool surface for the dogs to lie on . Large hairy dogs or any others which are finding the heat difficult are given wet towels on the kennel floors.
The dogs all seem comfortable with these arrangements and we will constantly review the situation.
Dogs are all regularly monitored late into the evening and water bowls changed regularly throughout the day.

Discontinuation of Lepto 2 Vaccine

Just to make you aware if your dog is currently vaccinated with Lepto 2 this vaccine is being discontinued. When your annual Lepto booster is due your dog will have to have two injections of Lepto 4 vaccine four weeks apart. We have now been informed that your dog can come into kennels after it's first vaccination with L4 as long as this was done on or before the date given for the old L2 booster vaccination. If you require any further clarification please ask.
