Sometimes, a shorter haircut is the kindest choice.
🧡

A dog's coat can look lovely and fluffy on the outside, but underneath, there may be tight matting that's not immediately visible.

And matting isn't just about appearance. It can pull on the skin, cause irritation and be really uncomfortable for your dog.

When the coat becomes too tightly matted to brush out comfortably, clipping it shorter is often the gentlest option. No painful dematting just to save the length.

🐾 A little tip: when brushing at home, don't forget behind the ears, under the armpits, around the collar and between the back legs. These are some of the areas where tangles can easily develop.

Because whatever the hairstyle, your dog's comfort always comes first.

Teddy was such a sweet girl today 😍🐾🐾

She wasn’t too sure about bath time at first 😅 but she did so well.

A gentle bath, a tidy groom, a few cuddles along the way, and she went home looking lovely.

When should puppies start their grooming journey? 🐾

A puppy’s first grooming visit doesn’t have to mean a full haircut.

The first visits are about gentle introduction: the salon, the table, brushing, bathing, drying, paws, face, ears, mouth handling, and all the little things that become part of grooming.

Once vaccinations are complete and your vet says it is safe, short positive grooming visits help your puppy build confidence step by step.

At the beginning, it is not about the perfect haircut. It is about helping your puppy feel safe, comfortable, and familiar with the grooming routine.

This is why I offer the Puppy Journey Package, a gentle way to start your puppy’s grooming journey.

I’m sorry for being a little quiet this week, I came back from holiday and the salon clearly had other plans for me 😅

It has been a busy few days of brushing, bathing, drying, trimming… and thankfully, moments like this too 🧡

Thank you to everyone keeping me busy and trusting me with your lovely dogs.🐾🐾

Before I head off for a little summer break 🧡

I’ll be away from 25th August and back in the salon from 9th September.

I still have a few appointments available before I go, and if September suits you better, you can already book your appointment for when I’m back 🐾
See you in September 🧡

Some little faces stay with you long after grooming day 🧡

Every dog has their own little ways. Some come in full of confidence, others take their time and need a little longer to feel comfortable.

And then there are those little moments when they start to relax, come a little closer, or simply look at you differently.

That little bit of trust means so much to me 🐾

One of my extra August Saturdays looked a little like this 🧡

Bath time 🛁 waiting patiently for their turn, plenty of loose hair… and three fresh faces by the end of the day.

Busy, but such a lovely Saturday 🐾

Is your dog shedding everywhere at the moment?

This lovely dog was ready for a proper de-shed, and look how much loose coat came out.

A good de-shed helps remove dead undercoat, freshen the coat, and leave your dog feeling lighter and more comfortable.

For dogs who shed heavily, a De-Shedding Mud Treatment can be added to help loosen dead coat and support the de-shedding process.

Message me if you’d like more details.
