💙🐾 Lenny’s First Big Boy Groom! 🐾💙

Gorgeous Lenny is now 6 months old and came to see us for his very first big boy groom! 🥹✂️

Lenny has already been to Home from Home for his puppy introduction, where we concentrated on getting him comfortable with the salon environment — having a wash, hearing and feeling the dryer and getting used to being handled on the grooming table. He took it all in his stride, and today we could really see how much those early introductions helped. 💙

For his first full groom, Lenny was an absolute superstar! ⭐ A licky mat and a few tasty treats certainly helped 😂, but he handled everything so well. He was understandably a little fidgety while having his face groomed, but that’s completely normal for a young puppy who is still learning.

One little thing we encourage owners to practise at home is gently holding the hair underneath their puppy’s chin for a few seconds while rewarding them with a treat. 🐶 This helps them become comfortable with having their head held steady, which can make grooming around the face and eyes much easier and safer as they get older. ✂️👀

We don’t think it will be long before Lenny completely masters the art of being groomed! 🥰

Now little Lenny’s hair is shorter, the nightmare grass seeds will be easier to spot 🤔🙈

Well done, gorgeous boy — you were amazing, and we can’t wait to have you back. Lenny is most definitely a very welcome member of the Home from Home family! 💙🐾

😁🐾 Meet “Smiler”… aka gorgeous Gunner! 🐾😁

Gunner has earned himself the nickname Smiler here at Home from Home because just LOOK at that face — he always looks like he’s smiling! 🥹💙

He is the happiest, bounciest Spaniel with the most remarkable colouring and an equally remarkable temperament. He’s one of those dogs you simply can’t help but fall in love with. ❤️

Gunner comes to us regularly for his groom, and we keep his body nice and short using a 7F blade, while keeping that gorgeous Spaniel character with feathering on his legs and his underskirt.

And, of course, the top knot stays! 😂😍 It gives him so much personality and is very much part of the Gunner look!

Regular grooming is especially important for our Spaniels, helping keep their coats comfortable, manageable and free from knots and matting — particularly around those lovely feathered areas.

Another lovely groom for our gorgeous Smiler… although we think that smile might just be because he knows he’s finished! 😂🐶💙

💕🐾 Dorothy’s First Big Girl Groom! 🐾💕

Gorgeous little Dorothy came to see us today for her very first big girl groom! 🥹✂️ And she certainly brought plenty of puppy energy with her! 😂💗

She was such a good girl, although she’s still learning the very important art of staying still while we carefully groom around her little face and clear the hair from around her eyes. 👀✂️ With puppies, it’s all about patience, reassurance, lots of little breaks and making each visit as positive as possible.

This is exactly why introducing puppies to grooming from a young age is so important. 🐶💕 Regular visits help them become familiar with being handled, brushed, bathed, dried and having their face, feet and other sensitive areas groomed. The more positive experiences they have while they’re young, the more confident they can become as they grow.

Dorothy did brilliantly for her first big girl groom, and with each visit she’ll learn a little bit more. 🥰

Well done, little Dorothy — you’re officially a big grooming girl now! 🎀🐾

💙🐾 Little Blue – such a brave boy! 🐾💙

The teeny tiny Blue, just 6 months old, popped in to see us today for his little manicure while his big sister was having her full groom. 🥹✂️

Bringing puppies along like this is such a great way to introduce them to the grooming salon. Blue got to hear all the different sounds — the bath running, the dryer blowing, clippers buzzing and everything else that goes on — all without any pressure. These little positive experiences can really help build their confidence ready for future grooms. 🛁🐶💕

And what a BIG brave boy he was for his nail clip! 💙 Those tiny little paws didn’t faze him one bit!

We can’t wait to see gorgeous little Blue again when he comes back for his very own groom and de-shed. 🥰🐾

🐾 Teeny Tiny by name… and teeny tiny by nature! 🥹💗

The absolutely adorable Tiny came to see us today for a lovely pamper and de-shed — and honestly, she really is TINY! 😂🐶

Despite her little size, Tiny was moulting for England! 🙈 So we treated her to a good de-shed shampoo, followed by a thorough blow-dry and de-shed brush to remove all that loose, dead coat. You’d be amazed how much fur can come off such a tiny little dog! 😱😂

Tiny was also in desperate need of a manicure and pedicure 💅🐾, so we got those little nails nicely trimmed and comfortable again.

She left us looking fresh, feeling fabulous and hopefully leaving a little less of herself all over the furniture! 😂💗

Regular de-shedding can make such a difference, even for our smallest short-haired pups. 🐾

💕🐾 WELCOME JESSIE! 🐾💕

The lovely Jessie came to see us today for her very first visit to Home from Home Dog Grooming — and what a little sweetheart she was! 🥰✂️

She settled into the salon really well and was such a good girl throughout her groom. Of course, a few cuddles and tasty treats along the way definitely helped! 😂💕🐶

For a dog’s first visit, I always like to take that little bit of extra time to help them feel comfortable, relaxed and safe. There’s no rushing — we go at their pace, give them plenty of reassurance and make the experience as positive as possible. ❤️

Jessie soon made herself at home and left looking absolutely gorgeous! ✨ Hopefully she’ll be just as excited to come through the door next time. 🐾💗

These two really are such a pleasure to groom. They come bouncing into the salon happy, waggy and ready for their pamper, which is exactly how we love our dogs to feel when they visit us! 🐶💗

Roo was such a good girl for her groom and left looking fresh, fluffy and gorgeous. ✨

We absolutely love having these two girls in — plenty of wagging tails and kisses! 💕🐾

Wren always arrives with the waggiest little tail, and you can’t help but smile when she comes through the door. 🥰 She comes in for her regular grooms with her lovely sister Roo, and these two really are an absolute pleasure to have in the salon.

The gorgeous Sebastian came in today for his regular groom, and as usual, he was such a very good boy! 🥰✂️

It’s definitely been a very Cockapoo start to the week here at Home from Home Dog Grooming — I feel like I’ve had Cockapoos coming out of my ears! 😂🐶 And we wouldn’t have it any other way! 💕

Regular grooming is so important for Cockapoos to help keep those gorgeous coats healthy, comfortable and mat-free, as well as keeping them used to the whole grooming process.

Sebastian left looking fresh, fluffy and handsome and ready to show off his new ’do! 🐾✨

I always like to give my lovely regular clients first chance to get their Christmas grooms booked before I open the remaining spaces up to new clients. ❤️
