Just a boy and his dogs.

I will miss our daily summer walks watching Jamesy's skills grow with training the dogs.

He is outside at every chance and is a real country boy. He absolutely adores the dogs and they really are his best friend.

He has always shown a huge interest in the dogs from a very young age and is constantly trying to improve his handling and training skills.

His passion is to be a vet but if that doesn't work out, he wants to be a dog trainer 💙

Frankie

In this lesson we introduced distance into our sit and stays.

We started for doing heelwork with sits along the way. Once Frankie was consistent in this we added in distance. This is done all on a lead to keep control and apply pressure if needed.

As you can see, all we are doing at this stage is a step to the side of the dog. Frankie was completely comfortable with this and was very stable in his sit.

In our next lesson, we will progress onto stepping forwards away from the dog and step behind the dog.

The bond with your dog 💜

The bond you have with your dog is so important. It's a huge foundation for your training. If you don't have a good bond or relationship with your dog then training it is going to be much harder.

I have really noticed a shift in Shirley that she is quietly following me around more and is just there by my side.

She is growing up so quickly and has got so big. We really enjoyed a cool evening walk after dinner.

I was really grateful for the temperature drop so we could get some decent training in.
