Axel arrived yesterday for an overnight stay. He sometimes forgets his size and can be a bit intimidating for smaller dogs. Not this time though. With the arrival of Lolly, there were four small companions, three of whom dart around like things possessed. Axel took it all in his stride, playing gently when he felt like it, ignoring them when he didn’t. When bedtime came he settled quite happily on the bed alongside little Monty and Daisy. Surprisingly we all had a good nights sleep. Now all have breakfasted and are asleep in various parts of the living room. Philip took this photo of Axel yesterday evening.

Tom is going home this morning and we shall miss him. He’s not demanding, doesn’t get over excited except when food is around, surprisingly has slept in his own bed for the whole stay and generally been a lovely guest. He and Geri seemed to form a bond when she was here recently and Philip managed to get these lovely photos. Ladies & Gentlemen I give you Tom & Geri. X

Yesterday was quite a busy one with both boarders and daycares. It wasn’t quiet but it was mostly harmonious. Maisie was delighted to see her bestie, Rocky. Monty was not as pleased as he temporarily lost her attention. She was soon back playing with him though when Rocky wanted a bit of peace and quiet. I had to go out yesterday afternoon but before I did, Philip managed to get this lovely photo. We have Monty on the floor, Greta reaching up to me with Maisie, Rocky, & Tom on the sofa.

Leo & Geri were here yesterday for their usual daycare. Geri spends most of her time on one sofa or another while Leo prefers being outside watching the pigeons. Maisie & Monty carried on very much as usual, while Tom observed from the sidelines. After the daycares had gone home we all sat down. Me for lunch, the guests, to scrounge! It was fine until Tom decided he wanted a cuddle! This left me stranded but he’s such a lovely boy that I obliged.

We said goodbye yesterday to both Betsy & Zebedee after their holidays with us. Milo the dachshund came for a couple of hours daycare and Monty was in seventh heaven. Along with Maisie, the three of them played until Milo went home when peace and calm broke out for a short while as they were clearly shattered.

Monty arrived yesterday for his holiday. He’s only 15 months old and can ‘out’ Maisie,Maisie! She’s loving having this little playmate. Betsy was delighted as well and they three of them caused chaos until fatigue took over! Betsy goes home today so Maisie will have him all to herself! I think it’s going to be a busy, noisy day but hopefully by tonight they’ll be exhausted and sleep well. Philip got this photo yesterday not long after Monty’s arrival.

Pixie the six year old dachshund came for daycare yesterday. Like all dachshunds, she can be quite vocal, so it wasn’t a quiet day! It was lovely seeing her again though and Maisie had a new playmate for the day.

There wasn’t much room on Philip’s sofa yesterday, so it was a good job that he was down the workshop doing ‘manly’ things. Tom & Betsy commandeered it for the afternoon. He did however, return long enough to make a cup of tea and take this photo. Tom left, Betsy right.

Pablo goes home today after his holiday and I thought that the early mornings would be over. However last night Tom & Betsy got me up at 3:30! Maisie, decided to join them, not that she really needed to but I think she was bored! She was having fun in the garden making all the security lights work and in the end I had to enlist Philip’s help, who luckily was still about, to get her in. Little monkey! It’s a good job we love her! She then went straight back to her bed and slept! Pablo got us up at his usual 6am but Maisie didn’t stir this time and now we are all awaiting the arrival of Zorro for daycare. I think the chaise might see a lot of action today. Philip managed to get this lovely photo of Tom.

Yesterday proved to be quite a noisy one! Maisie was delighted to see Rocky and split her time between chasing him and barking at things with Arnie. Pablo & Betsy found themselves quieter parts of the house. While Zebedee took himself off to the annexe bedroom. When we all sat down later Philip managed to get these lovely photos.
