Let’s talk TICKS! 🤔
Ticks are small parasites that attach to pets, feeding on blood and potentially transmitting diseases like Lyme disease, particularly in spring and autumn.
Help prevent them with veterinary treatments and check pets daily after walks. If a tick is found, remove it immediately using a tick remover or fine-tipped tweezers.
* Where to Check: Focus on the head, ears, neck, paws, and between legs.
* Removal Method: Seek veterinary advice/help or use a tick remover/tweezers to grab the tick close to the skin.
* Symptoms of Disease: Look for lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, stiff joints, and swelling.
Prevention Tips:
* Use preventative products recommended by your veterinarian.
* Keep household grass cut short and remove leaf litter to reduce tick habitats.
* Avoid walking through long grass and dense, wooded areas during peak season.
