❗️ Why long haired breeds need regular grooming❗️
Regular grooming every 6–8 weeks is important for much more than keeping them looking tidy. It also makes my job much easier as I build up a bond with each dog and the more they come to me for grooming the more they get used to it. 🐶🛁✂️
It helps maintain their coat, skin, comfort, and overall wellbeing.
🐾 Why 6–8 weeks matters
Prevents matting: Long coats can quickly develop tangles and mats, particularly around the ears, armpits, legs, belly, and tail. Severe mats can pull on the skin and become painful.
Keeps the skin healthy: Regular brushing and grooming removes dead hair, dirt, and debris and allows the skin to be checked for irritation, lumps, parasites, or other changes.
Reduces discomfort: Overgrown hair around the eyes, paws, ears, and sanitary areas can interfere with movement, vision, hygiene, and toileting.
Helps with hygiene: Trimming and cleaning areas prone to collecting urine, faeces, mud, and moisture can reduce unpleasant smells and skin problems.
Controls shedding: Regular grooming removes loose and dead coat before it ends up throughout the home.
Makes grooming easier: Keeping on top of the coat means the groomer can maintain it gradually rather than having to remove large amounts of severely tangled hair.
Allows early detection of problems: A groomer may notice things such as irritated skin, ear problems, parasites, sore areas, or unusual lumps and recommend that you speak to your vet.
Keeps the coat manageable between appointments: A professional groom every 6–8 weeks, combined with appropriate brushing at home, helps maintain a healthy coat rather than waiting until it becomes difficult
This is storm, a rescue spaniel who has been coming to me for 2 years and is very nervous and anxious. She doesn't like the dryer but this happy hoodie helps a little bit. She is slowly getting better due to her having regular grooms. 🐶❤️🥰
I have availability in November but December is getting booked up fast and will probably be fully booked by mid October.
Please call or message to book in.
Thank you
