Meet the team

Hello I’m Kelly..

Proud mum to 3 grown up children and Nanna to 2 grandbabies (I know I don’t look old enough but my body reminds me every day that I am) 😬
I was raised on a farm locally and had animals for as long as I can remember. Owning my first pony at 12, I became obsessed with horses and have been ever since. I’ve been known to drag Molly riding with me on occasion!

Recently left my 9-5 job after a string of redundancies to do something I love and work with animals.

🫶 Spending my time with the cutest dogs and horses

Meet the team

Hi! I’m Cass, and I’ve been working with IvyMay for about a year now, filling the role of your dog’s crazy aunty that will do anything for a good photo op.

After finishing uni where I got my degree in Equine Science, I worked as a dog walker for around a year and a half before Molly gave me the opportunity to come under her wing and I now have the balancing act of IvyMay pups plus my own clients over the hill in Saddleworth! I never really planned on being a dog walker, just knew I wanted to pursue a career with animals, but it kind of just stuck and seemed right, and now here I am! Whilst I focus mainly on dog walking, I’m always looking to expand my knowledge and experience working with other species.

I’ve never known a life without pets, and so I was animal crazy from the get go and quickly discovered I prefer their company to humans (sorry owners, I do love and appreciate you too!). I volunteered at many rescues over the years, worked on professional showjumping yards, and even had one of my ponies partake in the RDA (riding for the disabled) for a while. I’ve had everything from dogs and cats, to guinea pigs, rabbits, reptiles and horses. I have my dog Gus, who sometimes pops in on the quieter work days, and 4 horses- Sunny, Koda, Brego and Pascal.

I hope that I leave a lasting impression on you all and you know how much I truly care for each and every one of your furry friends! I’m excited to see what the future holds for me at IvyMay 🐾

Meet the team

I thought I’d do a gentle weekend introduction to the humans behind Ivymay

👋 I’m Molly (not the goat, that’s Tobi -scroll down to see my face 😂). I started Ivymay full time toward the end of 2023 following on from a particularly challenging year of working in the social care sector and losing my grandad simultaneously. I’ve always dabbled with professional animal care, the animals in my life preceded my existence 😇 my first dogs were members of the family before I was even born! My grandad loved animals and I loved to share them with him, so when he passed away I felt I was missing that appreciation of life and I know that investing in the business would be something Roy would have championed me on.

I am in my late 20’s now, and I still feel there is so much to learn and to do but waking up each day and getting to work with your pets -dogs, cats, horses, sheep, chickens, goats, reptiles…. Anything really- is such an honour. I’ve been working toward my accreditation with the APDT (positive dog training) to compliment my interest and skills around working with more complex dog behaviour. I also learned how to do my own Worm Egg Counts for livestock (yep, I have a fancy little microscope and every so often there’s sheep poo in my fridge 🐑). My knowledge and skills have all been born from the drive to provide the very best care and love to my own animals, and I am always excited to be able to share that with other peoples animals too! I also do some volunteering with animal charities and sanctuaries when I have the time (not often these days!).

🐴 Murrin and Shera the ponies
🐑 Chip and Norman the sheep
🐐 Too many goats to name, but our main character guy is Tobi ❤️❤️

Favourite parts of the job?
✅ spending all day everyday with animals
✅ observing and learning from dog-dog interactions and behaviour
✅ being outdoors and enjoying our gorgeous countryside
✅ the sense of team work among my own team with Cass and Kelly and all of our other gorgeous local dog walkers

Least favourite parts of the job?
❌ invoicing (ew! I spent a long time setting up an automated system so I don’t have to)
❌ maintaining the blooming vans, they do a LOT of miles and get a lot of wear and tear so it feels like I’m forever at the garage with them
❌ looking like a slippery teletubby all winter with my waterproof overalls
❌ when the coop runs out of warm pasties for my lunch 😭

I will be the person that you all speak to the most initially, I am the brains (ha!) behind our weekly schedules and chief problem solver of any challenges that arise. Honestly, who put me in charge?!
