Gaze into my eyes….

Did you know that when you have eye contact with your dog (gaze communication) it releases oxytocin (the feel good hormone) into our bodies and our dogs bodies.

This is the same hormone released when a mother looks at her new born child..

Have a gaze day everybody !

Testimonial:

“I highly recommend Ellie at Positive Touch, she has helped me with my anxious Labrador Phoebe so much.
Walking her used to be so stressful as she reacted by barking loudly at all dogs and almost pulling me over in the process! Ellie could tell that she was dealing with a lot of anxiety and she showed me how to recognise her triggers so I could manage her confidently and distract her before she reacted.
Walks with my girl are now a pleasure and she now focuses on me rather than other dogs. She has become such good friends with Phoebe too which is lovely to see.
Ellie is such a warm, friendly caring person who makes you feel so at ease, she gives you so much reassurance and confidence, she is incredibly talented at what she does and my dogs adore her.
I honestly can’t speak highly enough of Ellie, if you have any issues with your fur babies, she’s the person you need!”

Pheobe and Ed.

When mum arrived home with a new edition to the family, (Eddie-George) Pheobe was not a happy girl to say the least!
Pheobe would not tolerate Ed within the home and was showing signs of extreme stress but also aggressive behaviours towards the new pup!

Over the past few weeks we have been working on:

Environmental strategies to enable Pheobe space and time to adjust to Ed.

De-sensitisation work between the two.

Assisting the owner to understand body language and behavioural cues from Pheobe so that she is able to pre-empt behaviours before they happen in order to keep stress to a minimum and to enable these 2 beautiful dogs to bond.

They have done amazingly well and are living happily together.

Now on to polite manners training with Ed….. ❤️
