🎃🐾 Someone’s been caught pumpkin-handed! 😂🎃

This cheeky young pup decided our reception decorations were just too tempting and helped herself to a little pumpkin straight off the counter! 🐶🧡

We think she’s rather pleased with her little heist… 🤭 Good job you’re cute! 💕

Reggie the little guinea pig has been in to see us quite a few times over the past few weeks and is currently recovering from surgery to remove a growth. 🩺

He’s doing so well, and we couldn’t be happier to see him feeling brighter and enjoying some cuddles with our lovely nurse Kim! 🥰

We’ve all grown very fond of Reggie and absolutely love seeing his little face whenever he visits. Sending him lots of love and gentle cuddles while he continues his recovery! 💚🐾

🐾 We had the pleasure of seeing Benny this week! 🐶❤️

In between his consultation, we squeezed in a little photoshoot so we could get his gorgeous face up on our wall! 📸🥰 We think you’ll agree he’s a natural in front of the camera! 🐾✨

🐾 Meet Moxley! 🐶💚

Moxley comes to visit us regularly for his a**l glands to be expressed. But why do some dogs need a little extra help with this? 🤔

🐶 What are a**l glands?
Dogs have two small sacs just inside their bottom, which produce a strong-smelling fluid used for scent communication. Normally, these glands empty naturally when your dog passes a poo. However, sometimes the fluid can build up, become thick, or the glands may not empty properly, causing discomfort.

🔍 Signs your dog may need their a**l glands checked:
🐾 Scooting their bottom along the floor
🐾 Licking or biting around their bottom
🐾 A strong, fishy smell
🐾 Discomfort when sitting or passing poo
🐾 Swelling or redness around the a**s
🐾 Suddenly turning around to look at their back end

💡 Why does it happen?
Some dogs are simply more prone to a**l gland problems. Factors can include soft stools, allergies, inflammation or the individual anatomy of the glands. Dogs who experience repeated problems may benefit from regular checks and a tailored management plan.

❤️ If your dog is showing these signs, get in touch with your vet. Not every dog needs routine expression, and frequent problems should be investigated. If you notice significant swelling, severe pain, blood or pus, arrange a prompt veterinary appointment.
