How is Evel Knievel relevant to dog behaviour?
I’ll tell you!! 😂😂 my favourite toy when I was a kid!
Pull him back, wind him up, rev him up and he will go nuts!

Same as you’re doing to a dog when you allow them to talk to other dogs on lead!
Rev them up, keep winding them up and allow them to interact with other dogs on lead, build the frustration, build it some more, pull them back again and they’ll want to race forward!
So many people are literally walking wound up toys ready to explode after they’ve caused it - but then they want to blame the dog… or wave treats under their noses 😔😜
Teaching neutrality and focus on you rather than interacting with dogs is the key to stopping the frustration!!

You can see the body language change through this video! Tails can be so indicative of your dog’s behaviour! Look at the very gorgeous Spencer at the start of the lesson with his low agitated tail wag and then watch as he grows in confidence around the aggression therapy dogs!
Watch for Evil Edna having a little play!! I reckon she fancied this handsome cocker!!!
Spencer did amazing on his session to learn how to interact and certainly needed a lie down after Ludwig taught him how to play at full speed 😂😂

Monday 16th November - Safe Handling of Aggressive dogs workshop - for Dog professionals!

Tuesday 17th November - our Normal Aggression assessments for owners with dogs showing dog or human aggression, severe behavioural issues or reactivity! Available tor book NOW!

Wednesday 18th November - Recall Workshop and
beginner Gundog Workshop!
Also our “Raising the standard” training day for dog trainers! A full day with our team for dog trainers who want to level up and ensure they’re using the best and most effective methods!

Spot the correction!!! It’s a subtle one by Turbo and that’s because he’s so confident in his own ability!
And that comes from socialisation from a very young age!
When you socialise a puppy from 10 weeks old with other pups and dogs correctly they learn the language and the rules of engagement of other dogs!
Allowing frogs only to engage on lead or with humans running the show means those dogs do not get the full experience and lots of the finer body language skills are lost!!
Very confident dogs give low level corrections
Dogs with no confidence or skills go in too hard!!
