Wellingborough Dog Welfare, or Wellidog as we are more fondly known is a local charity in Grendon, Northamptonshire, and we are dedicated to making life easier for strays and unwanted dogs locally from surrounding areas. Founded in 1993 we have been rescuing stray dogs for over 22 years and are still as committed today as we always have been. With so many abandoned and unwanted dogs entering kenne

ls every day we are committed to finding loving homes for all of our dogs. We are a no-kill shelter who believe that second hand dogs make first class friends, and we work around the clock to raise funds to care for the dogs in our care while we search for their perfect forever home. All of the money we raise goes directly to our charity, but we can only carry on the work we do with the help of people’s generosity. We do not claim expenses for our work, our payment is seeing the dogs in our care transferred to a forever home and becoming part of a family where they are loved.

Frank is a beautiful 5 month old French bulldog x

This little man is full of energy and personality. He adores people and is incredibly affectionate. Frank would happily be beside you all day every day if he could and if you leave him out he will let you know! 🤣 he would love to be able to sleep on somebodies bed.

Frank is a typical puppy and will need a home that understands he will need commitment and training. He is still learning, especially his mouthing. House training is coming along ok. His new family will need to continue his training and help him grow into a well mannered adult dog

He is friendly with other dogs but he is full on so will need a dog that can cope with him. ALL dogs MUST be neutered in the home

a French bulldog experienced home would be ideal but not essential for the right person. Children 10+ if savvy

Frank will need a home where he isn’t left much as he craves human attention. He is a puppy who needs somebody prepared to put the work in. In return he will offer so much love and fun

Joey is a 5 year old, very friendly, happy boy who is looking for an active forever home where he can enjoy plenty of adventures, playtime, and companionship.

A typical Beagle cross, Joey is full of energy and enthusiasm. He loves being out and about, following his nose, and making the most of every walk. Because of this, he will need a home that can provide lots of exercise, regular play, and plenty of mental stimulation to keep him happy and fulfilled.

Joey enjoys playing with a ball — although returning it to you is still very much optional in his opinion!

He is good with other dogs and could happily live with a canine companion, subject to introductions. Joey can also live with children aged 8 years and over who are confident and respectful around dogs.

Joey cannot live with cats.

Our big dog show is almost upon us and we are really looking forward to seeing you all. Last year it was such a success with so many people attending

The schedule for the actual show is out and Mouse is raring to go. Plenty of classes to enter your doggy into. A day all about our dogs 🐾🐶

There will be a variety of stalls to shop at, a lovely cafe and why not try a bit of padel too 🎾

Not forgetting we have taster sessions in scentwork and have a go at flyball. Exciting times and a fun day upon us

Our big dog show and summer fete is coming up on the 16th August at Grendon hall. It was a fantastic day last year and hopefully it will be the same this year

Well what an absolutely fantastic day we all had today! Preparing for our 2027 calendar we had the photoshoot. All of these happy dogs loved and in their forever homes 💙💕🐾

Meet Mouse a handsome crossbreed of around 18 months old.

Mouse has had a difficult/sheltered start to life. He was found with 13 others hiding in ditches. The world can feel like a scary place for him however he has made a lot of progress and shows the potential he has with the right people

He does love a fuss but he is scared to commit fully to being fuss and will freeze but the more he knows you the more affectionate he is. He needs a home to build his confidence which will take time

He is now starting to walk on a lead but this will need continued training.

He is a huge foodie! If you have food he is there! He does show an interest in soft toys too but again just never had them. He can be quite vocal.

He could live with quiet sensible children 12+ and is ok with others dogs albeit shy.

Behind his fears is an absolutely fantastic dog with a lot of affection to give. If you are willing to give him time you will be thoroughly rewarded. He has gone from a petrified boy to a happy boy
