🎉 THE WINNERS ARE HERE! 🎉

After such a brilliant day at the Cliff Top Festival, it's time to reveal our three competition winners, each picked fairly using a random number generator.

🐾 Free 1:1 Training Session — Megan Tooley and Stanley
🎁 Small Gift Bag — Jessica Webster and Gizmo
🏆 Big Gift Bag — Jackie Byford and Albie & Moose

Huge congratulations to all three of you, we will be in touch to arrange your prizes.

A fun bit of luck for one family this year, our Small Gift Bag winner Gizmo is no stranger to us, some of you might recognise him from Monday's post about how his family met us at last year's festival. Two years, two wins, we are starting to think Gizmo might just be our lucky mascot!

And the number we've all been waiting for: thanks to everyone who entered our competitions, we raised just over £75 for East Coast Pet Rescue. Every entry made a genuine difference, thank you.

Thank you again to everyone who came and said hello, entered our competitions, and made this year's festival such a special one. See you next year 🐶❤️

Any prize unclaimed within 7-days will result in a new winner being picked.

This time tomorrow, we will be set up on Marine Parade at the Gorleston Cliff Top Festival.

You never quite know who you will meet at our stand, last year it was Darth Vader. Even the Dark Side approves of good, ethical training. Whoever, or whatever, turns up this year, we will be there all day.

Here is everything you need to know for Saturday 1st August:

- Where: Marine Parade, Gorleston on Sea, next to the seafront by Arnott Avenue area.
What to bring: your dog if they enjoy busy, noisy days out, cash for the charity competitions (entries are cash only), and any questions you have been meaning to ask
While you are there: live music on two stages, a children's arena, the Fun Dog Show from midday, a fun fair, and front line services with vehicles to look around
At our stand: free training and behaviour advice on absolutely anything, subject to Katey and James being free, so the earlier in the day the better if you want a proper chat. Not forgetting our three competitions AND festival exclusive offers!

Come and find us, enter our competitions, grab an offer, test your body language skills and say hello. We would love to see you.

Before I was a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB), I was a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN, and still am).

That background still shapes everything I do today, understanding the physical side of a dog's wellbeing, not just the behavioural side, matters more than people realise. Health and behaviour are far more connected than most training advice accounts for.

Behaviour work with me is a holistic approach in that we are looking at the entire picture and not just focusing on the ‘problem’. Unwanted behaviours are fed by a variety of life influences🐾

Come and stock up on free advice, no strings attached.

At our stand on Saturday you can pick up free handouts on muzzle training, toilet training, whistle training and general training tracking, plus we can supply videos on using a long lead, help with jumping up, and introducing a clicker.

If you are ready to go further, we have discount codes on the day for our online courses, Garden Gundog Training, Proactive Paws, Loose Lead & Recall, and the Whistle Course, each valid for 6 months.

We will also be providing on the spot offers on some of our services such as group classes £5 discount plus goody bag, 10% off behaviour programme bookings and add on one FREE session for all 1-2-1 training programme bookings. Only applicable when booking in real time whilst on the stand

Got a question that is not covered by a handout? Katey and James will be around across the day for a free chat about anything at all, training or behaviour, subject to availability.

Whatever stage you and your dog are at, there is something useful waiting for you.

Our June gundog workshop finally ran this month after being rescheduled due to the heatwave, and it was well worth the wait.

No posts work this session, so the placeboard work stepped in instead, proof that good training adapts to what you have, not what you wish you had. The session covered stop whistle, recall whistle and direction changes using the this way whistle, memory retrieves worked into heelwork, and group stays with handlers building distance and duration together.

Every dog worked at their own level, from newer pet dogs building focus close by, right through to advanced dogs stacking distance, distraction and steadiness together. That is the beauty of proper differentiation, everyone progresses, just at their own pace.

If you would like to bring this kind of structured, adaptable training to your own gundog, message me on WhatsApp or head to www.kateyaldred.co.uk 🐾

Two more chances to win at our stand at the Gorleston Cliff Top Festival, and this time every entry helps East Coast Pet Rescue

Small Gift Bag: a lovely little bag of donated dog goodies. £1 for one entry, or 3 entries for £2. With thanks to Stockfeed Bradwell Pet Shop in Bradwell for their generous donation this year.

Big Gift Bag: our students have put together something really special this year, a generously donated hamper of dog goodies, plus a free Loose Lead & Recall online course thrown in. £2 for one entry, 3 entries for £4, or bring a tenner and get 10 entries for £10.

Every penny raised goes to East Coast Pet Rescue, who we were proud to support at last year's festival too, so it is a genuinely feel good way to spend a bit of change while you are enjoying the day.

Please note, competition entries are cash only, we are not able to take card for these.

Find us on Marine Parade at the Arnott Avenue end, Saturday 1st August.

🎉FESTIVAL OFFERS NOT TO BE MISSED!

Thinking about booking a class or a session, but keep putting it off?

Sometimes the hardest part is just making the decision. So, we are making it easier for anyone who books with us at the festival.
- Book a class on the day to get a £5 discount and you will get a free doggy bag, numbers limited according to how many class spaces are available.
- Book a 1:1 training programme and we will add on a free session at no extra cost.
- Book a behaviour programme and you will get 10% off.

This has to be booked at the stand, while you are talking to us, but there is no pressure at all, come and have a chat first and we will help you find the right fit.

Not ready to book anything? That is fine too. Katey and James will be on hand across the day for a free chat about whatever you are finding tricky, no obligation at all.

Sometimes meeting us at a festival stand is where it all starts.

Gizmo's family were looking for an ethical trainer while they were in the process of getting their puppy. Katey kept coming up as highly recommended, and after a bit of Googling, they actually met her in person at last year's Cliff Top Festival, before ever setting foot in a class.

Here is what they told us:
"Adopting a corgi we knew we needed to give their brains tasks and jobs to keep them mentally stimulated. Since joining classes Gizmo has learnt so much through Katey's guidance, real skills to help him navigate life outside of class, and tricks just for fun mental stimulation too.
As well as group classes, Katey offers a range of different training to get involved in, like gundog training. We are not joining any gundog events, but the basics were still relevant and a great way to introduce Gizmo to water. He loved the class, and most importantly he always loves Katey's happy, enthusiastic approach to teaching. And if anyone is a good judge of character, it is dogs.
As Katey always says, we don't fix dogs, we change understanding, which is truly the mantra of our classes. Kindness, theory, ethics and gentle handling are always at the heart of everything she does. We are forever clients."

You never know where a chat at a festival stand might lead. Come and find us on Saturday 1st August, Marine Parade, Gorleston.
