One of the biggest misconceptions about poodle crosses is that they will automatically be hypoallergenic and non shedding. The reality is that puppies can inherit different coat types from either parent and there's no guarantee they'll have a low shedding, fluffy poodle coat.
Bobby is a JRT x poodle and has a wire coat which benefits from hand stripping. This process involves gently removing the dead coat by hand or with special tools, encouraging healthy new hair growth while preserving the coat's natural texture and colour. Every crossbreed is unique, so the best grooming method isn't determined by the label of the breed mix, but by the coat the dog has inherited.
Bobby is a perfect example that not every doodle or poodle cross needs clipping, and not every poodle mix is non shedding 🐾
