I started K-9 Clip in December 1981 at the back of my parent's pet food shop in Wrotham Rd, Welling, Kent. My business grew and in 1986 I bought the lease on a large shop in Hadlow Rd, Welling. I passed my City & Guilds in Dog Grooming in 1988, the year they first came out and have trained many staff over the years to gain their City & Guilds too. After 24 years running a very busy salon trimming
over 70 dogs per week I decided to downsize and build a purpose built grooming salon at the rear of my home which opened in March 2006. I trim all the dogs that come to K-9 Clip. My daughter Rebecca works on Saturdays and in her university holidays and enjoys bathing the dogs. I love my job but after 33 years I have a lot of trouble with my joints. Large and overweight dogs cause me to be in a lot of pain. I have therefore had to cut my hours down which is why I only work 4 days per week and only on small dogs.
