Have you got the cutest puppy or prettiest female?

We will be running the Dog Show at:
Portchester Gala tomorrow 11am-4pm! Inside Portchester Castle grounds.

Come down and enter your dogs into one of the classes.

- You can entre your dog on the day.
- It will be £3 per class and you can enter as many classes as you wish.
-Rosettes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
-Your dog can have a go at scent or tricks and a temptation alley/fastest recall.

There is lots more things to do for all the family! Come down for a great day!

Keeping with Impulse control theme... here's Ghost from Silver class demonstrating her great skills.

✴️Look at this amazing impulse control.
Ghost has learnt to wait patiently and not to take the treats until her owner gives her the cue that she can have them!
Impulse control affects many things in life for dogs, not just food and treats.
Teaching these exercises really helps with dogs to learn that good things come to those who wait and not to just behave impulsively.

✴️This was a video I took in 2016 when I had all 3 of my girls, with with Bandit my foster dog at the time.
This shows good impulse control as I accidently dropped the treats. You can see when they all look but don't move 🥰
Can you do this without telling them to leave?

Another Congratulations to Jacqui, Lucy & Jon with Zack for passing Bronze level this week.
Zack has been building his confidence in class and learning to relax more. He has been able to complete the Bronze criteria around other dogs which has been a huge achievement.
Well done for your continued dedication to Zacks training, he's slowly coming out of his comfort zone.

Sabre has been working really well around the distractions of other dogs.

⚠️To all class members! Due to the extreme heat I have taken the decision to close classes tonight.
🥵The hall will be too hot and wouldn't be nice for you or your dogs.

❗️Please can you like this post or comment below so I know you have seen this. I will be emailing or messaging everyone else this morning.

🥕Please ensure your dogs are kept calm and in in the shade with access to water. Discourage them running about, instead give them long lasting chews and a cool place to settle.

‼️This will mean the current course will now finish a week later, on the 30th June and the new course will start 7th July.
Please let me know if this causes any problems.
Thank you and hope you enjoy a day off!

Scent Bronze Level 2.

What fantastic progress made in our level 2 bronze. This was a 4 hour workshop,
working on bag searches vehicles and novel areas, inside and outside around distractions!

We are at Whiteley dog event today. Its very hot so please ensure your dogs are kept cool. If you do venture out with them keep them hydrated, in the shade and avoid walking on hot payments. Even walking in the shade can be tiring and cause them to over heat so keep exercise minimal, if at all.
Come down and say hi, we are here to answer any behaviour or training questions 😊
Other stalls include natural dog chews, homemade dog treats, dog photography, leads and harnesses plus the dog show!
