🐾 EVERY COAT IS DIFFERENT — AND EVERY COAT NEEDS THE RIGHT CARE! 🐾

Did you know that dogs have a huge variety of coat types, and what works for one breed may not be suitable for another? Also if you have a mix of breeds coat type can be different to what you might of expected!

From smooth and short coats to long, silky coats, thick double coats, curly coats and wiry coats, each has its own grooming requirements. 🐶✨

🐕 Smooth coats – such as Labradors and Dachshunds, still benefit from regular brushing, bathing and nail care.

🐺 Double coats – such as Huskies, German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers, need regular brushing and appropriate de-shedding to remove loose undercoat while maintaining the protective outer coat.

✂️ Curly/wool coats – such as Poodles and Bichons, can grow continuously and are particularly prone to tangling and matting without regular brushing and professional maintenance.

🌸 Long & silky coats – such as Yorkshire Terriers and Afghan Hounds, need regular brushing and careful attention to areas prone to knots and matting.

🧹 Wire coats – such as Border Terriers and Wire Fox Terriers, have their own specialist requirements and may benefit from techniques such as hand stripping depending on the coat and the owner's wishes.

Meet the gorgeous Ed, our beautiful Lhasa Apso, who came to Doggy Style Grooming Salon for a fabulous transformation! 🥰✂️

Did you know the Lhasa Apso originated in Tibet, where they were treasured as companion and sentinel dogs in Buddhist monasteries and noble households? Their name is linked to Lhasa, the sacred city of Tibet.

The Lhasa Apso’s magnificent coat was traditionally kept long and flowing, providing protection from the harsh Himalayan climate. That beautiful coat also requires plenty of care and attention to keep it healthy, comfortable and free from knots and matting. ❤️

🐾✨ TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY – TEDDY’S FIRST TRIM! ✨🐾

Today was a very exciting day for our gorgeous Teddy… his FIRST EVER TRIM at Doggy Style Grooming Salon! 🥰✂️

Bless him, Teddy has already been coming to us for some puppy training, so he knows the salon, the environment and, most importantly, our team. ❤️

Getting puppies familiar with the grooming environment from an early age is so important. 🐶💙 Introducing them gradually to the noise of dryers, clippers, other dogs, different smells and the hustle and bustle of a busy salon helps them build confidence and learn that grooming is nothing to worry about.

Teddy was such a superstar for his first trim! 🌟 We’re so proud of him and can’t wait to watch him grow into a confident, happy grooming customer.
