Of course it had to be Storm, my very own Maine C**n, who got the honour of being the first kitty groomed in the new AristoCat Care salon! 🐱💚

It was a first time bath for my girlie & she absolutely SMASHED it! 🛁✨ Safe to say she’s looking very pleased with herself chilling this evening after her salon debut 😂

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on social media recently 🤍

It’s been a really tough weekend with several trips in & out of hospital, & I’m still feeling absolutely exhausted from it all & the aftermath.

Behind the scenes, we’re also incredibly busy getting the new salon ready, while I continue travelling out for mobile grooming & nail appointments. There’s lots happening, even if things have seemed a little quiet online!

What actually happens during a professional cat grooming session? 🐾

It’s definitely not just a case of putting your cat on the table & getting on with it!

Every appointment starts with me getting to know your cat, checking their coat & skin, & seeing how comfortable they are. From there, the groom is completely tailored to what they need on the day.

Sometimes that means changing the original plan, clipping rather than trying to brush out painful matting, or simply stopping for a wee break. I’ll never rush a cat or force them through a groom just to get it finished.

Their comfort, safety & trust will always come first 💚

Mats aren’t just untidy, they can become tight, painful & uncomfortable against your cat’s skin 🐾

They often begin as small tangles in easy-to-miss areas, particularly under the legs, around the tummy, chest & back end. Basically, all the areas cats typically don’t allow their owners a glance at 🤣. Once they tighten, brushing them out may no longer be comfortable or safe.

Regular grooming can:
✨ Remove loose fur & undercoat
✨ Catch tangles before they become painful
✨ Keep the coat healthy & manageable
✨ Help your cat feel much more comfortable

Please never try to cut a mat out with scissors. A cat’s skin is incredibly thin & can easily be pulled into the mat.

If you’ve noticed knots, clumping or matting in your cat’s coat, don’t feel embarrassed, there will never be any judgement at AristoCat Care. Helping cats feel comfortable again is exactly what I’m here for 💚.

After 2.5 years of mobile grooming & building the most incredible, loyal client base, it feels like the perfect next step for AristoCat Care. Our brand new salon will be based in Midlothian, just five minutes from Straiton Retail Park! 🐱🛍️

Created exclusively for cats, the salon will offer a calm, private & welfare-led grooming experience, with only one household welcomed at a time. Every detail is being thoughtfully designed around your cat’s comfort, creating the ultimate kitty spa day without the noise & bustle of a traditional grooming salon 🛁✨.

There’s plenty of parking, plus lots nearby to keep you occupied while your kitty enjoys their appointment 🚗.

I’m honestly so proud of myself. Never in a million years did I imagine I’d be opening my own salon, but what started as a little mobile business has grown into something more special than I ever expected, & that’s entirely thanks to the amazing clients who have trusted & supported me along the way.
