👀 That's a Wrap on Show Season... Who Won the Voucher?! 👀

- These indirect costs of fertility outweigh the direct costs (fertility drugs, vet time).
- Foetal losses are expensive - quick identification and diagnostics needed

- Maximise efficiency with a good handling system to decrease the time spent per cow. This has a quick return on investment!
- Pay close attention to heat detection and nutrition

- Heifers with a lower age at first calving have been shown to have lower SCC, better fertility and a better longevity in the herd. They also cost less money to rear and are quicker to start paying your investment back!

🐮 Holstein Young Breeders Weekend Rally 2026 🐮
We had a great day on Saturday supporting the Lancashire HYB team as they hosted their national weekend rally. Tunsteads Farm was the place to be, with a fantastic selection of cows, a tough stock judging competition and plenty of fun on the assault course! 😂

Well done to all the young members. Safe to say, the next generation of dairy farming is looking bright!
