☀️ Heatwave and horseflies 🪰
With the appearance of hot temperatures and horseflies, many horses are feeling the effects of summer.
I’ve listed my favourite products below that can help cool and discourage unwanted insects.

🌿 AlvaTeaTree Shampoo�This shampoo has been carefully formulated to gently cleanse the coat, whilst removing grease & dirt. Soothes and cools the skin whilst ensuring that you don’t develop the dreaded ‘scurf’. Emitting a lovely tea tree oil aroma and providing antibacterial properties and acts as a natural deterrent to flies, leaving the coat smooth and beautifully clean.

🌿 AlvaNeem Shampoo�Moisturises hair from root to tip and maintains the health of the skin. Neem oil can sooth dryness, repair damage and remove bacteria. This product is a great preventative and recovery treatment for horses that suffer with sweet itch and all round itchiness.
When the tea tree oil is combined with our other ingredients, AlvaSweet becomes an effective insect repellent but also promotes recovery from itchiness and healthier skin. The antiseptic properties treat minor injuries caused by horse flies by boosting white cells.
A spray or sponge solution, we recommend applying the product directly to the itchy area and rub into the roots of the hair.

TOP TIP TUESDAY

Does their tail need a quick freshen up but you don’t want to shampoo / bath 🛁 it ?

1 - Brush through with AlvaDazzle to ensure tangle free.
2 - Mix up a bucket of AlvaCleanse NO rinse wash
Dip tail in, sponge 🧽 the top too if needed, leave to dry for a few minutes.
3 - Remove, shake excess water, spray with AlvaDazzle and brush.
