No dog ever died from missing one walk ⚠️

With highs of 31 degrees expected this week, it's vital to make these checks before walking your dog.

If the pavement is too hot for your hand for five seconds, it's definitely too hot for paws. While the weather is hot, opt for walks at dusk and dawn to avoid burnt paw pads and heatstroke.

And remember. If in doubt, don't go out.

⚠️ADVICE ON COOLING DOGS YOU SHOULD NOT FOLLOW!!!⚠️

Its seems everyday now there is another viral piece of advice on cooling dogs (or horses) from an "expert" that is dangerously wrong! Here is the latest!

❌"Most dog owners cool their dog down the wrong way"
✅YES, SADLY INCLUDING YOU NICK AND THOR TRAVEL!

❌"Armpits, groin, then chest, underneath their neck, paws"
✅NO, WHOLE BODY.

❌"Not their whole body"
✅YES, THEIR WHOLE BODY!

❌"You do not want to soak them completely"
✅YES YOU DO, IF THEY ARE OVERHEATED!

❌"If you soak them then whats going to happen is the water creates almost like a barrier with their skin and it doesn't allow the heat to release"
✅THIS IS WRONG! WATER COLDER THAN THE DOG COOLS BY CONDUCTION. WATER IS A BETTER CONDUCTOR OF HEAT THAN AIR. WATER EVAPORATES.

Hi everyone in and around Caterham - please keep your eyes peeled for Marley. He got out of his garden off Whytleafe road last night and hasn't come home/been found yet. He's very gentle and friendly but has very poor road sense so of course we're very worried, so please do approach and get him on a lead if you can. He is microchipped and has his owner's number on his collar so please call either one of us if you see/find him (my number is above in the image). He's a fairly large dog and very trusting, I'm hoping someone hasn't just decided to try and keep him - he has special kibble due to stomach issues and medications he needs so he needs to go home.

This gorgeous german girly is Tink ♥️ 🐕‍🦺 she came for her trial night the weekend before last, and except for a small hiccup when she got dropped off (she knows what she did but I won't publicly shame her! 👀) she was a sweetheart. As you can see she likes to loaf and snooze 😴 which worked out well because the weather was miserable and when we did briefly go out we got drenched! ☔
