Groundwork training with horses.
I have studied for years and there are so many different ways to help horses, I must say positive or negative π’
My way is a positive body languageπͺ
So this guy has too many doors open in his brain π he's on a huge adventure π«£ he has already been on hack out, cross country, played fairies with my Granddaughter (he hasn't) we are still Grooming and tacking up π«£ he can't process there and then, he's processing 20 mins ahead π«£
He is a typical pony case that gets forgotten or badly named, well not with me, Horse psychology is my passion.
So he will teach me as I guide him πͺ
He's very confident but with his full on adventure mode , bits in-between his journey appear like monsters π«£ so he never saw the bin, the fallen tree, another horse or a carrier bag.
Even though he is so calm around them normally π€ on his adventure they are huge, so a spook happens and then he creates a new funky body movement and thinks "Wow I can do the splits π«£ watch me mum" then its a new game π«£
So bringing in small games to play with on his mind, while working with long reining, allows him to think of the basket for a moment, in that moment, while asking for simple body movements to then build it up.
Don't just put anything on your horses back π«£ that's work in itself, allow the horse to eccept the basket and be confident in carrying.
This is for anything.
He's doing so well, keeping each session short and finishing on a positive note, I have a long way to go, but each day is a step to his freedom of enjoyment outside in public π«£ππͺ
