I write this with a heavy heart....
Twenty years ago, a little dog walking business began. It was originally set up for my partner of 21yrs, Andy.
Neither of us could have imagined the journey it would take us on.

The business grew, and when Andy became ill, I took over. The business continued to grow with me for a while. However, Andy's health sadly declined, and I made the decision to scale things back. Then after COVID, I decided to go part-time so that I could be there for Andy when he needed me most.

Through all of those changes, one thing never changed – the incredible loyalty and kindness of my clients. Many of you continued to support me, even when you were working from home and probably could have managed without a dog walker. You kept my little business going when you didn't have to, and I will never forget that. Your loyalty, understanding and support have meant more than I could ever put into words.

Sadly, after Andy passed away, the business never quite returned to what it once was. After much thought, I've decided it's time for a new chapter. I'll be returning to my previous career as a lorry driver, while continuing with the dog training side of my business.

It's certainly not an easy goodbye to the dog walking side. I've been incredibly lucky to spend my days with so many wonderful dogs and their equally wonderful owners. To whoever takes over walking your dogs, they are truly fortunate. I've had the privilege of caring for some amazing dogs, and I'll miss every single one of them.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me with your best friends over the last 20 years. Thank you for your kindness, your friendship, your support, and for allowing me to be such a special part of your dogs' lives. It has been an absolute privilege.

Here's to new beginnings, while holding onto so many wonderful memories. Thank you, everyone. ❤️🐾

Keep your pets safe in the heat 🌞

As the weather warms up, many of us will be spending more time outdoors . While we might enjoy the sunshine, hot weather can be dangerous for dogs, cats and small animals - just like us, they can suffer from overheating, dehydration and sunburn.

💧 Always provide plenty of cool, fresh water and shade. For small animals, frozen water bottles wrapped in a towel can help keep their enclosure cool.

🧴 Pets can get sunburn too! Apply pet-safe suncream to pale ears, noses and other exposed areas.

🐾 If your pet has found a cool spot to rest, let them relax. They may not appreciate lots of fuss when they're trying to keep cool.

🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle. Even with windows open or in the shade, temperatures inside can become deadly in minutes.

🌅 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler, and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day.

🔥 Check the pavement before heading out. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your pet's paws.

⚠️ Know the signs of heatstroke:
• Rapid or excessive panting
• Weakness or collapse
• Bright red tongue or gums
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Thick, sticky saliva

If you think your pet is overheating:
✅ Move them to a cool, shaded place.
✅ Saturate their coat with cool water.
✅ Offer small amounts of cool drinking water.
✅ Contact your vet (or out of hours service) immediately.

Please help keep your pets safe and comfortable this summer.

As of 1st May 2026, The Renters Right Act came into force for private renters in England.

This law gives tenants the right to request permissions to keep a pet, which landlords cannot unreasonably refuse.

Tenants in England now have the right to submit a written request to keep a pet. Landlords must consider the request and cannot refuse it unless they give a reasonable justification.

A great morning searching at our local church! This was a new venue for some of the dogs, but they all stepped up to the challenge brilliantly.
We set up a variety of problem-solving areas. Then practiced strengthening indications, by introducing handler movement to help proof their final response.
It was fantastic to see the dogs working through the exercises with increasing confidence and focus.
Well done to all of our teams—you should be proud of your progress!
