🚨 A little business reality check… 🚨
Imagine turning up for work and your boss saying:
“Sorry, there’s nothing for you to do today. You can go home.”
“Oh… and you’re not getting paid either.”
You’d be pretty stressed, right?
You’ve got bills to pay. Things to buy. A family to look after. You were relying on that money.
Now imagine that happening at least once a week.
That’s essentially what happens to a small business when a client doesn’t turn up for their appointment, forgets, or cancels at the very last minute.
And before anyone thinks I’m being harsh… I completely understand that life happens. ❤️
Things go wrong. Plans change. Emergencies happen. Sometimes finances change too. I genuinely do understand.
But when an appointment is booked, that time has been specifically put aside for you. I can’t fill that space with another client at short notice, which means that time — and the income attached to it — is simply lost.
And when it happens regularly, it has a real impact on my business and my family.
I’m really not a “rules and T&Cs” kind of person. 😂
I’ve always tried to be as flexible, understanding and accommodating as possible.
But I think I’ve reached the point where I have to remember that this is my job. This is my livelihood.
So, with a little 😞 and a lot of ❤️, some clear cancellation and no-show policies will be coming soon.
It’s not about being difficult.
It’s not about taking money from people.
It’s simply about protecting the time I’ve set aside for my clients — and making sure my business can continue to support my family.
I hope you can understand. ❤️
And to all of my lovely clients who turn up, give me plenty of notice when they genuinely can’t make it, and respect the time I reserve for them…
Thank you. You’re very much appreciated. 🐾❤️
