X3 cases of heat stroke in 24 hours (local dogs) when owners waited till 9pm to go out thinking it was best like most do.
Dogs can’t regulate themselves to cool down like we can especially when it’s been that hot throughout the day and night for several days (25+) most homes stay well in the 20s throughout the night so they don’t get a break . Remember less is more a few days of missed walks won’t hurt or kill your dog. The damage the heat does internally can take anything from a few hours to days /weeks, even years to show up. Personally, I would avoid any walks in the evening/night unless it’s dropped below 20* for a good couple of hours, early (4-7am) is better. Luckily all the dogs are ok now .
The owners did nothing wrong taking them out at this time they were just unfortunate 😪 please be careful x

No Walks after 9am tomorrow and the rest of the week will be none after 11am. I will continue to check weather app each ...

No Walks after 9am tomorrow and the rest of the week will be none after 11am. I will continue to check weather app each evening just to double check and make changes if needed. Early morning walks will go ahead from 6am for those that need/want it but otherwise it will be a quick garden wee, water refresh and a treat. No ball / toy play to insure all dogs are kept as calm as possible. Remember heatstroke isn’t always right away but can happen days later or cause issues to organs over time so less is always more. If you’re hot then your pup is x10hotter !
