New recruit today was Raven a 3yr old cocker spaniel. Already on his third home but now with people who want to really make it work.

Issues from barking/lunging at dogs and pulling on lead.

Quick chat then out we went, tweaked the lead walking and he was straight away so good. Then long line in a field walking towards dogs and called him he turned away every time, no noise, no lunging.

He’s a quick learner now owner has to keep up the consistency and he will be a different dog.

Another new recruit yesterday was Nala who is a 3yr old chihuahua x terrier x lots of other mixes.

Loves people but for last two years has been causing issues on lead with other dogs. Went for a walk and saw what was happening.

Changed how she’s handled and what she’s walked on and literally straight away she just walked next to and past my dogs.

Update from this morning is their morning walk was far more enjoyable..

New recruit today is Poppy who is a labradoodle and been taken on by new owners. We had to delay initial catch up as she was being spayed..

Issues were lead walking and off lead focus as she loves dogs.

Today we looked at lead walking and how she behaves when she sees a dog.. saw what was happening then changed the equipment and boom within 10 mins she was walking lovely to heel and walking next to my dogs no issues just focus.
We tweaked how owner handled her as well and relaxed more so now it’s loads of repetition.

Another new recruit today is Ruby an 8 month old Doberman.

Issues were lead walking, tweaking long line training and just general issues around settling inside etc.

Went to a field and tweaked long line and she is super smart and learnt quickly, on way back looked at lead walking, again she gets it just pushes boundaries which in time will go.

Early days and learning for owners to carry on with and we will catch up soon.

Dealt with the barking straight away he stopped in seconds, went to a field and introduced some better ball games to make him work harder, he loved them.

Changed how we walked him on way home and then soon as home he settled straight into his crate..

He’s a clever boy and thrives on learning now his owner just has to be consistent.

I know it’s hot so the temptation is to get dogs out early and run them, but please remember if you do run them DO NOT allow them access to water as soon as home and while panting as this can cause bloat which needs veterinary care… let the dogs breathing slow and calm down first 👍
