Waggies is officially on holiday now, back Thursday 3rd September 🐾

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all my wonderful customers. This summer has been the toughest yet, with weeks (if not months) of extreme temperatures and more cancelled walks than I'd ever have liked its been really difficult to see an end in sight and to keep my business going.

Your patience, understanding and support have meant the world, and I'm incredibly grateful to each and every one of you.

Ollie has loved helping with the dogs over the summer and they have all loved having him join in on some walks and visits. Now to make the most of the next week before secondary school hits!

Couldn't have said it better myself. This summer has been and is, extremely tough. The toughest in my 4 summers ive worked through. If this is the new norm for us during the summer months it becomes a seasonal job. Prompt payment during these times are really appreciated as I still need to put my fuel in my car to travel to the dogs I am walking/doing visits for and on top of all that its the summer holidays so I have an 11 year old to ferry around and entertain. I just paid £6.80 for a milkshake on a day that I have earned £12. How do we keep going, please turn the temperature down someone 🥲 x

There is something I really feel needs to be said from professional dog walkers - unfortunately in the past month i have seen at least 5 dog walkers close their business due to a number of reasons . One reason I have heard from each and everyone of them is "The inconsistent wage , the heatwaves has made it impossible to pay my bills let alone myself"
Today on my first group walk i passed a lady who in passing conversation said to me " I bet you dog walkers are loving not having to work"
I feel the need to remind everyone this is our JOB our full time job, the way we pay our bills , feed our families and somehow pay ourselves. The past couple of months have been TOUGH for every dog walker I have spoken to - we all have mortgages or rent to pay , some have children. This is NOT a hobby this is a business we put all of our love and passion into! The next time your dog walker has to change the schedule to keep your dogs safe we are not doing it for an easy life, belive me we are in the group chats we have stressing about how we will fit all the let out visits in, or that we will be earning a grand total of £30 today. We put everything we have into our jobs to give the best care we could possibly give to all of the animals we love ❤️ vans are expensive, crash tested crates are expensive , but all worth it to keep them safe 🐾 in less words - appreciate your dog walkers in the heatwaves , the rainstorms, the snow ! 🫶🐾✨️

Back from holiday and back to all your lovely doggies tomorrow! 🐾

Unfortunately, the temperatures this week are looking pretty ridiculous, with forecasts heading into the high 30s as the week goes on. As always, your dogs' safety and wellbeing come first I never take any risks 👌

I'll keep a close eye on the forecasts and will message everyone the evening before their scheduled walk to confirm arrangements.

Meanwhile, my position appears to be under review. HR have informed me I can stay on as Treat Provider and P**p Collector 💩 😂
