As I am no longer in the freelance business (for the time being), I would like to recommend another fabulous freelancer setting up her business! If any of my south west clients are looking for care for their horses, dogs and small animals please get in touch with Chelsea!
Please be mindful spaces are limited at the moment, and more availability should be open from September onwards. I have worked alongside Chelsea for over a year and have known her for nearly 4 years, and she is incredibly passionate and caring for all animals and a genuinely lovely person!

✨ Meet the Founder – Chelsea ✨

Hello, I’m Chelsea, founder of Mayflame Pet Sitting Services 🐾 I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and the story behind the business. 💚

The name Mayflame is very special to me.
My grandad’s horse, Mayflame - a gentle soul who shared a remarkable bond with her companion, Shadow. Their trust and friendship inspired the values that underpin my business: kindness, care, resilience, and genuine connection. These values are at the heart of everything I do today. 💚

Animals have always been a huge part of my life, from growing up with family pets to working professionally with horses and a wide range of animals, as well as with industry professionals.

✨Caring for animals has never been just a job - it's my passion. ✨

I hold multiple equine qualifications, including an MSc in Equitation Science, BHS and Sports Horse Welfare Qualifications, Pet First Aid, relevant insurance, and DBS.

At Mayflame, I provide reliable, compassionate care, treating every animal as if they were my own — giving you complete peace of mind while you're away.

Thank you for supporting my new venture. I can’t wait to meet you and your fluffy families 💚 🐾

💌 Feel free to get in touch to book or chat about your pet care needs 💌

Groom life hack!!

Loop the lead rope through the throat lash of the headcollar when hand grazing… prevents the horses from standing on the lead rope!

With well behaved horses only! 🤩

I am available for holiday cover, day to day care, ridden work and coaching in the Lancashire area over the summer months, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you require any of these services.

I have many references, qualifications and experience behind me and am continuing my professional development.

Alfie tried something a little different this week!
He put on his brave pants and FLEW over the arena cross country brush jumps…. Just look at my face, this was his first try, and popped it so sweetly first time!!!
I think he will make the sweetest little eventer 🫶

No scope no hope says Alfie!!

This week Alfie had an introduction to a mini water tray which apparently had sharks in it last week! However this week I took the time to allow him to figure out the question and gain some confidence by starting in hand and building up from there.

He’s really found his jumping legs now! 🫶

Alfie week 5!!!

He’s really starting to become something special 🫶Just look at those knees 🤩

This week the fire fillers were pushed all the way in, we jumped bounces, doubles, gate fillers and the bigger hanging gate. By allowing him to figure it all out with a little confidence from me, he made light work of it all!!
