Big news 🥳

We are thrilled to announce that Stroud Road Vets has officially been re-accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme (PSS).

Despite undergoing renovations this May, our dedicated team worked hard to pass this rigorous inspection. This accreditation reflects our ongoing commitment to the highest clinical standards and the safety of our patients, clients, and staff.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to provide the best care for your pets!

Rudolph's stem cell journey

Rudolph, a Border Collie, came to us with hind limb lameness that was affecting his comfort and mobility.

Specialist X-rays taken here revealed instability in Rudolph's lower spine. He wasn't responding to medication and given how delicate that part of the spine is, his owners were understandably keen to avoid invasive surgery. Together we opted for ultrasound-guided stem cell infusion therapy which can be seen in the second picture.

His stem cells were harvested then administered into the affected joint as part of his treatment. He took it all in his stride and earned himself a very well-deserved "Brave" badge.

Rudolph's mum tells us he's like a new dog and can be seen enjoying his walks again, very much back to his usual Border Collie self!

Middy was a very brave girl at her first puppy clinic! She had a full health assessment, including a nutritional plan tailored to her individual needs. We also discussed preventative dental care to help keep her teeth healthy and clean as she grows.

At her next visit, Middy will be shown how to have her teeth brushed and introduced to some of the veterinary equipment, including noisy clippers. Well done, Middy!

Dory came to us very unwell, with severe swelling in both of her back legs. She came to us as a 3rd opinion and we discovered that Dory wasn’t able to clot properly, causing bleeding into her legs and under her skin, alongside a severe liver condition.

After lots of intensive treatment from us and her devoted owners, Dory is doing much better and is back to her happy self!

We believe Dory may have ingested something, we just wish this beautiful gentle soul could tell us what we had been up too ❤️
