Ferguson Vet Clinic provides orthopaedic investigation and surgery to patients across Scotland as well as offering Primary Care for pets in the local community. As you’d expect, our patients come first and you can be assured that your pet will be cared for by the most committed, highly trained and dedicated registered nurses, support staff and veterinary team, which includes surgical specialists. Our brand new Clinic is spacious, airy with lots of natural light and houses state-of-the art equipment. We have bespoke luxurious hospitalisation kennels, a CT Scanner, modern theatre suites plus the benefit of a small wildflower meadow in the surrounding space. John Ferguson, the Veterinary Surgeon behind the project, previously set up the highly acclaimed East Neuk Veterinary Clinic in St Monans, Fife which was one of the busiest orthopaedic veterinary referral centres in the country. Our team is growing in more ways than one, and we’re looking for 1 permanent and 1 maternity RVN to join our nursing team.

We’re a proudly independent, award-winning practice with a growing caseload and excellent facilities, including CT, advanced imaging, orthopaedics, dentistry and ophthalmology.

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and keen to develop their skills. Referral experience isn’t essential — we’re happy to support the right person as they build their knowledge and confidence.

The role

• Permanent position – full-time preferred, part-time considered
• Maternity position 1 year – full-time preferred, part-time considered
• 30–40 hours over 3–4 days
• Mixed rota between 7:30am and 8:30pm
• No out-of-hours work – we have a dedicated night nursing team
• Competitive salary, dependent on experience
• Excellent CPD and professional development opportunities
• Ideally 2–3 years’ experience, although we’re happy to consider the right candidate

What you’ll be involved in

• Theatre and surgical nursing, including orthopaedics
• Dentistry and ophthalmology
• CT, radiography and other diagnostics
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting in theatre
• Inpatient care and discharge management
• Nurse clinics
• Working alongside experienced clinicians and nurses across GP and referral services

You’ll be joining a supportive, team-focused environment where our nurses are an important part of the clinical team.

A LITTLE CAT LOOKING FOR HER FAMILY 🤍

A female cat has sadly been handed in to the clinic after being found deceased on Sappi Road, Markinch.

She is black with white feet and a white chin and, sadly, was not microchipped. We believe she may possibly have been pregnant.

We know how heartbreaking it would be for a family to be unaware of what has happened to their much-loved cat, so we are hoping that sharing this post may help us find someone who recognises her from the description.

Help Us Find His Family

We are trying to trace the owner of a male adult cat who was sadly found deceased in the area between Bankhead and Finglassie.

He is a mackerel tabby with a distinctive white chin. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a collar and was not microchipped.

We appreciate this is difficult news, but we would really like to make sure his family are aware of what has happened.

Found Cat – Thornton

Sadly, we have had a young female cat, estimated to be around 1–2 years old, brought into the clinic after being found deceased on Main Street, Thornton.

She is a tortoiseshell/tabby with four white paws. Unfortunately, she was not microchipped and was not wearing a collar.

We are hoping to find her owner so that we can let them know what has happened and give them the opportunity to make arrangements for her.

Veterinary Dental Radiography CPD Workshop

Looking to improve your confidence in veterinary dental radiography? Join us for an intensive, hands-on CPD workshop designed specifically for veterinary surgeons who want to develop practical skills and produce high-quality diagnostic dental radiographs.

📅Tuesday 25th August 2026
📍 Ferguson Veterinary Clinic, Glenrothes, Scotland
⏰ Choose the session that suits you:

• Morning: 8:45am–1:00pm
• Afternoon: 1:45pm–6:00pm

This practical workshop focuses on developing skills you can immediately apply in practice. Working in small groups, you’ll receive individual guidance while learning:
✔️ Dental radiographic principles and positioning techniques
✔️ How to obtain consistent, diagnostic-quality dental radiographs
✔️ Practical use of digital dental radiography systems
✔️ Interpretation of normal and abnormal dental radiographs
✔️ Recognition of common pathology and its clinical significance
✔️ Practical tips and troubleshooting for everyday cases

Most of the session is dedicated to hands-on learning, giving you the opportunity to work with digital dental X-ray equipment, imaging software, and canine and feline skulls under expert supervision.

The course is led by experienced tutors Piotr Godziebiewski DVM MRCVS and Claire Harrison BSc (Hons) RVN VTS (Dentistry) FHEA, combining extensive clinical experience with a passion for veterinary dental education.

To ensure the best learning experience, numbers are strictly limited to just 5 delegates per instructor (maximum 10 delegates per session), allowing plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and personalised tuition.

💷 Course fee: £390 + VAT (£468) per delegate
☕ Refreshments and digital course notes are included.

🕐 17–24 hours per week
📅 1 in 5 Saturdays

We’re looking for someone who is:

✦ Calm and professional under pressure, able to remain composed in a busy veterinary environment

✦ Able to multitask effectively and prioritise competing demands

✦ Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with clients

✦ Organised and reliable, with excellent attention to detail

✦ Compassionate and professional, with a genuine love of working with people and animals

✦ Flexible and willing to support the team, including working additional hours when required to cover colleagues during annual leave

✦ Previous veterinary reception experience is desirable

✦ Experience dealing with pet insurance claims would be an advantage

The role will involve welcoming clients, answering telephone and email enquiries, booking appointments, processing payments, dealing with insurance claims and supporting the clinical team with a range of reception and administrative duties.

This is a busy and varied role, so the ability to stay calm, multitask, think on your feet and provide excellent client care is essential.
