Ears can get dirty, irritated and sore if they are left untreated. If you notice a bad smell, discharge or your dog or cat being bothered by their ears then please do bring them in to see us. Sore ears can cause a lot of problems for our pets and we want them to have a pain free and stress free experience if we can🦠

Another Lab another Licki Mat😋

The Superlorin Implant for Ringo was given with our RVN’s Abbie and Lucy. The implant has a big needle so we would expect any dog to get a little fright when this is injected. It is important that we restrain the dog still as possible whilst making it a positive experience. As you can see, Ringo was quickly back to wagging his tail and licking up the paste again🤣

Black Cat Appreciation day🖤

Jackson was a little camera shy when visiting us but a lovely boy. We don’t want to forget about our special black cats. They are the least adopted cat breed and some can live in rescues for a long time. Please share your black beauties in the comments so we can appreciate how lovely they are🥰

Bobbin the most cuddliest Daxi and sisters Luna & Lacey. Pet suits are a great comfortable alternative to the ‘cone of shame’ sometimes. They protect surgical wounds whilst giving your pet freedom to roam.

Grass seed season🌱🌻

We removed this grass blade from a dog the other day. This can easily happen this time of year if your dog or cat are running around the long grass and bushes.

Small blades of grass can make there way down in to your pets nose and can be stuck there or in the throat. It can be extremely irritating and can cause harm if left. You may notice coughing, sneezing or head shaking. Luckily we found this and managed to safely remove it under sedation☺️

Pippin & Penny🐾

This cute little duo were in for in some pretty big dental procedures. After quite a few teeth were extracted for both dogs we were happy to see them go home bright and eating happily.

Dental disease can be serious if left untreated and if anyone has ever had dental pain, we know how sore it can be🥴Sometimes our pets hide the pain very well but can still be suffering. If you are concerned about your animals teeth then you can book in with one of our Vets or Nurses for an oral exam.

Signs of dental disease include:

🦷 Bad breath
🦷 Thick tartar/plaque on teeth
🦷 Inflamed or bleeding gums
🦷 Wobbly teeth
🦷 Pawing at mouth or drooling
🦷 Chewing on one side of the mouth
🦷 Not eating
