⚽ THE WORLD CUP IS HERE! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

If you’ve been into the practice this week, you’ll see our reception has had a bit of a "glow up"! We've got the flags up and the football fever is real. 🙌

But while we're matching the excitement on the pitch, we want to look out for our four-legged fans at home. Because the matches are in North America this year, many big games are kicking off late at night UK time.
A sudden scream, wall-thumping, or fireworks at 11 PM or 1 AM can absolutely terrify a pet—especially if they are startled out of a deep sleep. 🐾💤

Here are 3 quick tips to "match-proof" for your pet:
1️⃣ Build a midnight fortress: Set up a cozy, blanket-filled den in the quietest room of the house.
2️⃣ Drown out the drama: Put on a fan, white noise, or TV/radio to mask sudden shouts from the neighborhood.
3️⃣ Keep your cool: If you're celebrating a goal, remember your dog doesn't know why you're shouting. Try to keep the high-energy celebrations away from anxious pets!

🌞🍹 Beer Garden Visits & Cooler Vibes for Your Pets! 🐾✨

The sun is shining, the patio chairs are out, and beer garden season is officially in full swing! While we love seeing you out enjoying a cold drink in the sunshine, our furry friends need a little extra help staying as cool as a cucumber.

As the temperatures rise, so does the risk of heatstroke in our dogs and cats. Because they wear permanent fur coats (and can’t sweat like we do!), they overheat much faster than we think.
Here is your quick guide to keeping your pets safe, happy, and hydrated this summer! 👇

🔥 Signs Your Pet is Getting Too Warm

Keep a close eye out for these tell-tale signs that it’s time to head indoors to the AC:

Heavy, frantic panting (or any panting at all from cats!)
Excessive drooling or thick saliva
Lethargy, weakness, or stumbling (looking a bit "drunk" without the pub visit)
Bright red gums or tongue
Vomiting or diarrhea

⚠️ VIP Warning (Very Important Pets): If your pet is an older golden oldie or carrying a bit of extra winter weight, they are at a much higher risk. Please don't let them sunbathe all day, even if they think they want to!

❄️ Top Tips to Keep Your Best Pal Cool
You don't need a swimming pool to keep them refreshed! Try these easy hacks:

Paws off the pavement: If the pavement is too hot for the back of your hand for 7 seconds, it's too hot for their paws. Stick to early morning or late evening walks.
Pupsicles & Cool Treats: Freeze some low-sodium dog/cat broth, or pop some wet food into a Kong and freeze it for a chilly snack.
The Shadow-Chaser: Make sure they always have access to a shady spot and plenty of fresh, cold water. Throwing a few ice cubes in their bowl is a great game!
Cooling Mats & Damp Towels: A damp towel for them to lay on (or a fancy cooling mat) works wonders. Just avoid wrapping a wet towel tightly around them, as it can trap heat.

If you ever think your pet is showing signs of heatstroke, please treat it as an emergency and call us straight away.

Now, go enjoy that sunshine—and give your pets an ice cube from us! 🐶🐱🧊

Everyone knows cats are liquid, but apparently, dogs can melt onto the small scales too. 🫠🐶
He heard us say "the cats get the small scale" and decided he could maybe pass as a Maine C**n. Nice effort, Seth, but the jig is up!

Sylveon ❤️
Vaccines are much easier when you’re the one in charge. 💅 This lovely lill lady took over the front desk this evening and, honestly? She’s a natural. 12/10 service, would definitely let her handle the phones again.
