Some great advice here from John, as they say you learn something new every day and I’ll now think very differently if I’m walking a dog who I think isn’t motivated by food.
Prior to starting my business over 8 years ago having come from a high level professional career, I was keen to ensure I start off with as much knowledge as possible about dogs so I was lucky enough to shadow John for months in his training sessions. Taking on clients it’s such a big responsibility for me as I’m walking someone’s precious four legged ‘child ‘ (after all we love them unconditionally like they are our children!). So many people start a business thinking walking a dog is easy and have no experience in dealing with all the different types of issues that we come across in our dog walking jobs every day. I always like to offer new clients as much behavioural advice as possible if there are any issues with their dog that would be best to be worked on by them to ensure their babies live as an enriched life as possible with them and myself. Well done again John and thanks for allowing me to bank more great knowledge!
