🐾 **Small Paws, Big Friendships!** ❤️
A tiny puppy meeting a much bigger dog can be the beginning of a wonderful friendship. 🐶
But even the friendliest dogs need the right introduction, especially when there's a big difference in size!
At Head & Paws™, we believe building confidence should be a positive experience, never something a puppy feels forced into.
💕 A few little things can make a big difference:
🐕 Start at a comfortable distance and let both dogs settle.
🐾 Consider a gentle parallel walk or a carefully managed introduction through a secure barrier.
❤️ Watch their body language and allow either dog to move away.
🐶 Keep early interactions short, calm and supervised.
And remember, they don't have to become best friends on day one. Sometimes, simply feeling safe around another dog is a wonderful achievement!
We've recently improved our **Puppy Socialisation Guide**, including dedicated advice for introducing small and toy-breed puppies to larger dogs, with different approaches to suit individual needs.
