Remember me? Maybe not, I have just posted for the first time in about a year. So, what’s new?
After some time away from self employment, I am re-launching Canine Confidence Club.
Over the last year, my dog Hector has been on a bit of a medical rollercoaster. From a slew of complimentary therapies to a hypothyroidism diagnosis and now a mystery allergy throwing oozing sores at us, it has been a bit of a year. Between Hector’s struggles, studying with VSA, working full time and the ever present Personal Life, I had nothing left to give Canine Confidence Club so once I had finished with my last client, I made the difficult decision to walk way from it for a while.
Behind every dog trainers instagram is usually one - often behaviourally eccentric - person trying to be an entire circus on their own, and boy it takes a toll. Being your own boss blurs the lines between Work and Home and burnout is inevitable for those of us who struggle setting appropriate boundaries. Sometimes you do need to say No Thank You I’lm Full and leave the table for a bit.
Despite all this I’m excited to take a second run at self employment and build a business that works for me as well as my clients.
This is gonna be fun.
