He was incredibly well-behaved throughout his visit and even chose to lie down once he felt comfortable with the acupuncture needles placed along his back🐾

Barnaby has started an elimination diet to help identify any potential food-related allergies, and we recommended one of our favourite raw food brands, Naked Dog.

Penelope soaked up all the cuddles from the team while Barnaby happily rolled around the shop making himself right at home!

This pretty girl visited our clinic recently to receive acupuncture treatment from our vet, Martine💚

She sat so well!

Acupuncture can be used to aid conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, irritable bowel syndrome, muscle injuries and even certain skin conditions.

It helps to reduce inflammation in the body by stimulating sensory nerves in the skin and muscle, this then triggers the brain and nervous system to release natural pain killers such as serotonin and endorphins to regulate the immune system🐾

Both our veterinary clinic and our raw food shop will be closing early on the 28th of May at 5pm to allow our team for a staff meeting.

Please not that all calls made to us after this time will be automatically transferred to EVG.

We will be open as usual on Friday the 29th onwards.

☀️ Weather Alert ☀️

A heatwave is expected next week with temperatures reaching around 25°C. Please keep aware of the risks hotter weather can pose to pets and ensure precautions are made to keep them safe and comfortable.

Preventative measures:

* Ensure pets have access to plenty of fresh water at all times
* Keep walks short and stick to early mornings or later evenings
* Help keep the home cool and well ventilated
* Limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day
* We kindly discourage owners from bringing pets into the shop unless necessary

🐾 Important: Updated guidance now advises that if a pet is showing signs of heatstroke, cooling should begin immediately using cold water. Early and effective cooling can save lives, so please do not avoid cold water if your pet is overheating.

Parasite Prevention🐰

Willow is a patient at The Natural Vet, who came in recently after being exposed to Cheyletiella - a non burrowing fur mite that lives on the skins surface.

He received acupuncture treatment from our vet, Martine, to boost his immune system after fighting this parasite and responded positively to treatment!

Parasites are relatively common in rabbits so it’s very important that preventative measures are made such as regularly cleaning their bedding areas and bringing them in for check-ups.

We offer a wide range of treatments and preventative care for rabbits to ensure your pet is getting the best care possible.
