Grass Seed Warning for Dog Owners 🐶

We've been finding lots of grass seeds in dogs' coats recently, so we wanted to remind everyone to check their pups after every walk.

During grooming, we've found grass seeds hidden in:
🐾 Between the toes
👂 Around and inside the ears
🦵 Under the armpits
🍑 Around the groin and tail area
🧥 Deep within thick or long coats

Grass seeds may look harmless, but they can burrow into the skin and cause painful infections if they're not removed quickly.

A quick brush and check after walks can make a big difference. If your dog is suddenly licking a paw, shaking their head, or seems uncomfortable, it's worth having them checked by your vet.

As always, we'll remove any loose grass seeds we find during grooming, but regular checks at home are just as important especially at this time of year.

I know a lot of people are on heatwave mode but I just wanted to mention these bad boys. I picked 5 grass seeds from a dogs fur during walk along a path very early this morning. They are everywhere. Please can everyone get in the habit of giving their dogs the once over when you are chilling in the evenings. I remove as I go and check dogs over but as you can imagine if it’s warm and other dogs are in the car it’s not something I can do thoroughly. Ears and pads mostly. I’ve had them growing through my socks in boots 🥾. It will save you a lot of money! 💰.
Back to heatwave, thank you to everyone for being flexible with walk times/pop ins/cancellations. The dogs comfort and safety will always be top priority. Not an easy time for anyone working outside 😘
