🏆 Hollie Smith and Mr Diceman 🏆

Hollie and 12-year-old Mr Diceman had their first EI outing together in March 2025, and have performed consistently well throughout their 2026 season.

With a perfect 72 points from their counting 6 outings (having had 12 starts overall), the combination have recorded:

🥈 two seconds
🥉 two thirds
🔥 only 4 SJ faults all season
⭐ season DR average of 26.8
💎 PB DR of 19
⚡ Inside the XC time on 8 occasions

We are delighted to see Susie Berry Eventing and Strangford finish 6th in Boekelo with a beautiful double clear.

Steven produced him through the Young Event Horse Series, Le Lion D’angers as a 6 and 7 year old, and Blenheim 8/9 year olds, with the belief he was a horse for the biggest stage. We have enjoyed watching his partnership with Susie develop this year, and how amazing to finish the year with such a brilliant result.

VACANCY – Riding and Yard Duties

Smith Brothers Eventing are looking for a team member to join our team.

We have a busy team of event horses ranging from young horses through to 4* level and are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking and keen to develop their riding and experience within a professional eventing yard.

This position offers plenty of riding, training and the opportunity to compete for the right person. You’ll have the chance to work with and produce a variety of horses, with regular training and support.

The role will include all general yard duties and horse care alongside riding, so we are looking for someone who is happy to be involved in all aspects of running a busy competition yard.

Our facilities include indoor and outdoor arenas, gallops and a cross-country schooling area, with accommodation available on site.

There are also opportunities to work towards BHS exams and further your training and qualifications.

Weekend work will be required, particularly during the eventing season.

We are happy to invest time in training the right person. A good attitude, willingness to learn, strong work ethic and genuine love of horses are essential.

The final NR event of 2026 takes place this coming Saturday at our brand new venue of Moyallen, just outside Gilford.
Please support this event as the Richardson family have expended significantly to provide sport for us.
Vina Buller and Steven Smith have designed flowing cross country courses which will have suitable questions for each level from EI110 to EI80, with alternatives where appropriate. They have made good use of natural features such as the woodland and river crossings and this will be a perfect event for first timers who could compete in the Training classes without having to register at this stage.
However, underage riders need to be assessed and a competency form completed.

Entries for Moyallen will close at noon tomorrow, Monday, 7th September.

We are really excited to welcome Moyallen (just outside Gilford) to our calendar on 12 September when the Richardson family will be hosting our final event of the 2026 season.

Moyallan is situated on a picturesque site, on old grassland with plenty of grass covering. There are expansive flat areas for dressage and showjumping, with good visibility over the cross country course for spectators.

The flowing cross country courses which have been designed by Vina Buller and Steven Smith will have suitable questions for each level from EI110 to EI80, with alternatives where appropriate. They have made good use of natural features such as the woodland and river crossings and will be a perfect event for first timers.

Entries for Moyallen are now open and will close at noon on Monday, 7th September.
