The practice was established in Gainsborough in 1924 by Mr Swaby at Morton Terrace. At this time the practice was predominantly farm animal and equine. Raoul Dowding to

ok over the practice in 1999. As animal ownership has changed over the years we decided to be a solely small animal practice in 2006.

🔥 Wildfire safety – keep your pets safe 🐾

With the increased risk of wildfires during hot and dry weather, please take extra care when out and about with your pets.

🌳 Keep dogs on leads near areas at risk of fire and avoid walking through dry grass or woodland where possible.

🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars, even for a short time.

💧 Make sure your pets have access to plenty of fresh, clean water and a cool place to rest.

🔥 If you see a wildfire, keep yourself and your pets well away from the area and follow local emergency advice.

If your pet has been exposed to smoke, flames or heat and you are concerned about them, please contact your vet for advice.

Seasonal Canine Illness (SCI) has no known cause, but this is what we know so far 👇​

☀️ Seasonal means it is most prevalent between August and November
🌳 Dogs fall ill roughly 1 - 3 days after a woodland walk
🤒 Symptoms may include vomiting, lethargy, abdominal pain, not eating and muscle tremors

​SCI can be fatal and although the cause is currently unknown, we focus on treating the symptoms and most cases recover. ​
