September is a busy time in a lot of households with children going back to school.

Dog behaviourist, Adem Fehmi has shared his top tips on helping that transition period for your pooch.

ā€˜It is important to make sure you are still meeting your dog’s needs throughout the day once normal routines have resumed in September.

This might mean some extra careful planning, prepping of food dispensing toys (with tasty Barking Heads food of course!), and factoring in opportunities to train and exercise your dog in ways that allow them to express natural behaviours.

This will help you ensure your dog stays happy and content. Don’t be afraid to seek the help of an accredited behaviourist should your dog be struggling with any change.’

🐾 Meet Sam & Ben – two of the people who help make Pawfest happen!

Sam (my husband!) is the guy making sure everything’s ready for the big day. He’s behind the scenes setting up the Try-Me Activities, lifting, building, sorting, and troubleshooting so your pups can enjoy every part of the event. From agility to scurry to the splash zone—if it’s there and working, Sam’s helped make it happen.

He’s also the one supporting me every step of the way—saying yes to the wild ideas, showing up for every last-minute plan, and somehow keeping his cool through it all.

Ben (my brother-in-law!) works right alongside him, helping manage the Try-Me Activities on the day. He’s the friendly face encouraging every nervous pup to give it a go, helping owners feel confident, and cheering on every waggy tail. He’s also the one bringing the laughs when we need them most (and between us—Hugo definitely prefers him!).

They both work their socks off to help make Pawfest what it is. From the early mornings to the pack-down at the end, I couldn’t do it without them.

If you see them at Pawfest, make sure to say hi—or offer them a coffee (trust me, they’ll need it!). šŸ¾šŸ’›
